Night shift where I work has a shift differential of $1. I have discovered that holiday/vacation hours do not have that $1. Is this common? And they also have a policy in place for if we are late/absent, that weeks pay is reduced by $3 per hour. This can't be legal right? Edit: I should also note that a new handbook was rolled out recently and I have found nothing in the handbook regarding these matters.

anxiety thinking about going to work
i don’t necessarily hate my job, it’s an overnight stocking job at a retail store. but with every single job i ever have, i always get to a point where i can’t go into work anymore because my panic attacks before work are too bad. every time i get a new job it takes less and less time for it to get to this point. 2 jobs ago it took 6 months to give me panic attacks, my last job took 2 1/2 months to give me panic attacks, and i’ve only been at my current job for 1 month and i’ve already been calling in multiple times. i don’t know what to do anymore or how i can “fix” myself. if anyone has advice or helpful info that would be great.
Do you think that these strikes will lead to any real change for workers or not?
I work remotely and was asked if I wanted to switch to a 1099. I asked to give me the weekend to think about it. Just to find out from another employee that they where going to just switch me on this payroll with out my consent or knowledge. They would have too if one of the owners didn’t suggest they ask me first. My first reaction was that they don’t want to have to pay my maternity leave. I want to quit but a big part of me just wants to tough it out, make them pay for maternity leave then quit. I have worked for them for over a year. They are a small company and I have picked up slack in areas that aren’t even in my job title. I can’t believe they would even consider changing me to a 1099 with out talking to me first.
…..what do you do for work, how much are you currently being paid and how much should you REALLY be getting paid?

Any ideas on where to move?
I’m a year away from finishing my sonography program and going for board exams in California, but I just had a health scare and don’t know what to do if I can’t work once I’m taken off medi-cal in two years. I’ve been contemplating moving to another country for the longest time because even if Capitalism and corruption is everywhere, I just want to be guaranteed healthcare and social programs if I ever do get sick. Has anyone ever thought about moving out of the US? I was thinking of going back to school for a bachelors in something on top of my sonography registrations because they most likely won’t apply outside of the US. I want to get a head start on finding out where would be a safe place for a single woman to live as well as what’s a good degree or skill to have that can…
