I’m a year away from finishing my sonography program and going for board exams in California, but I just had a health scare and don’t know what to do if I can’t work once I’m taken off medi-cal in two years. I’ve been contemplating moving to another country for the longest time because even if Capitalism and corruption is everywhere, I just want to be guaranteed healthcare and social programs if I ever do get sick. Has anyone ever thought about moving out of the US? I was thinking of going back to school for a bachelors in something on top of my sonography registrations because they most likely won’t apply outside of the US. I want to get a head start on finding out where would be a safe place for a single woman to live as well as what’s a good degree or skill to have that can…

I’m a singer and I perform at restaurants and stuff. I have a tip jar as does every other performer. Yet when I come home and empty my tip jar and count the tips I got, I feel so ashamed. I feel like I robbed these people of their money. I don’t deserve this, I didn’t work for it. I feel like a beggar and I guilt tripped these people into tipping me by having my jar out. Other performers tell me to write “tips” on my jar, or put lights on it to bring attention to it and get more tips and I completely understand where their coming from, there was a time where I was in a legal battle with an agency and during this time they refused to pay me and the tips I got every night helped keep me afloat. To start it was my failt not knowing that last years AL was mov3d to this year (but this years cant move to the next). I found out i have 20 days of AL. I am the only employee on this position and need to be in the office. I dont wanna loose it. Talked to my manager and explained my situation. They said that they will try to accommodate if possible but im pessimistic as its full working season and there is no one to back me up and do my work. I don't wanna loose it. I got a job in ABA therapy a few months ago, which has a pretty lengthy training process for an entry level job. I had to do a 40hr informational training course, a competency assessment, a 2 week physical crisis management course, and then a 2 week on the job training. Then, I had to submit all of the information from all portions to the BCBA oversight committee to take the licensure exam, and then I could start. (btw i wasn't a super huge fan of ABA anyway, and i'm kinda glad to be out) There was an issue with how I did my quizzes and tests in the first portion, so I had to start over with the 40 hour training. I’m transitioning out of my role because my boss is ordering everyone into the office a few days a week in spite of a COVID surge. It’s happened company wide already a bit, but I’ve been working remote for a year plus already in spite of this. I also filled out a form ensuring the agreement to work remote and emailed it to her after we agreed I could work remotely on Zoom. She’s trying to make me come in despite my role not requiring it for my last 9 days at work. Can I be fired for just not coming?
