People aged 65 and older are the fastest-growing group of people who are homeless and their ranks will peak by 2030. This daunting forecast comes amid escalating rents nationally, stubborn inflation and a potential recession that compounds woes for baby boomers who have minimal savings for retirement. It also comes as traditional workplace pensions are increasingly rare and workers must rely on the savings they have accumulated through their working lives. About 27% of people who are 59 or older have no retirement savings, according to a survey from Credit Karma. According to a 2019 study by University of Pennsylvania and others that analyzed the populations of homeless shelters in New York City, Los Angeles and Boston that predicted by 2030, the number of people 65 and older who are unhoused will nearly triple compared with 2017. When do I tap out
Currently I’m working 72 hours a week, 6 days 12 hours I’ve been doing this for the past 6 years . As much as I would like to find a job with less hours realistically I can’t afford it. I bring in around 125k a year my wife brings in 65k and we have been living paycheck to paycheck for the past two years. Really I have no major debts no student debt (didn’t go to college)I only have $1200 in credit card debt and no car note currently. My wife however is up to her nose is credit card debt and student loans . It’s embarrassing talking to my family about it I just don’t know what to do anymore I guess I just needed to vent.

I’m 18 and I work as a tower technician. I climb fix issues, build sites on the tower so we can all have internet access. With being in this field I travel for work sometimes I’m out of state for weeks at a time, but today after working 14.5 hours he told me we are not getting paid for truck time. Where we are working now is a hour and a half away and that’s 2 ways a day and that’s over 10 hours a week so I’m losing 300-400 dollars a week. I really like this field it pays good and I have to bay bills and i have dreams. I don’t want to stop doing this work I love it but I I need advise on what to say to him he isn’t going to be in tomorrow for a funeral. I told him we need to talk…
I'm at the last step before confirming my surgery date and made the mistake of mentioning to my boss that I'm aiming for January. She made a face and said “you know, when employees get surgery they try to do it over the Christmas break so they don't need time off for recovery” I was a bit shocked she said this, so I reminded her I have over 320 hours of annual leave banked and should be able to take this time off. I would be giving her 3 months notice, and recovery should only be at maximum two weeks. Am I insane to be absolutely seething over this? I never take annual leave because we are a small team (20) and I'm her executive assistant. It's been almost 4 years and the only time I have taken annual leave was 3 days for a wedding over a year ago.…

Awakening moment
I have been hating my job so much lately, To the point of short bursts of depression. I go into work from 6:15 am til 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. My Title is Sight supervisor for an in-house staffing agency. I am in charge of up to 150 people daily. Working with a schedule that changes in numbers daily. For example right now the customer we are staffing for is asking for 150 people per day. soon (nobody knows when) that number will drop drastically, causing all the people we got hired on to find another job because we can’t provide work for them. Then we a have to start the whole process over again. All the while being asked why we can’t fill the ask. From the time I get to work till the time I go home I am none stop working, no exaduration I eat my lunch…
