I just recently accepted a job offer and sent my potential new employer a signed a job offer and NDA agreement. Can I rescind them if I decide I no longer want to accept the job offer? I sent the documents last night and I think I’m going to stay with my current employer. The new employer doesn’t have any of my personal information and I’m not scheduled to start until early October.
My husband works for a tech service company fixing computers, servers, printers, etc. Recently he was given the option to be laid off with 2 week’s severance pay or moved to a part time position. The part time position would allow for his regular hourly pay, plus $23 per service call he closes up to 29 hours per week. If he closes 4 calls a day, he nearly makes the same as he did full time. The big drawback is that they cut all benefits, no PTO, no 401K, no healthcare. All gone. To top it off, his employer allowed borrowing of PTO if the time you needed to take off was more than you had available. He was negative 7 hours, which they happily deducted from his paycheck 7 hours of pay after the change was solidified. His company is even posting jobs online, looking for part time reps…
I just quit a job after three weeks. While there I saw more temps than any other job. Solely because they couldn't hire enough people. The bosses made jokes about it.”I bet they won't last the day” “You need really tough skin here”, “Nobody wants to keep a stable job enough to be here”, “There goes another no call no show. Knew it.” etc. It was a collage campus food service job. Wouldn't you want to treat and pay people well that mess with the food of your paying students? I took an almost three dollar pay cut working there but I was desperate for work. But the final straw was wanting me to work 4 plus hours without a break. But I digress, why do you want to be that employer? Why be proud of being an a hole?
Amazon delivery paycheck issue
Hi friends. My friend worked as an Amazon delivery driver for about 2 months, after that time he felt the pace and job wasn’t for him so he put in his notice. They told him at the time his last paycheck would be paid as normal. A week later he went to check the app they use to pay employees and his account was canceled/closed by the delivery company he worked for. They told him he would have a physical check and could come by anytime to pick it up. His manager even confirmed it was in the office and he could pick it up anytime. He went yesterday to pick it up and was told they don’t allow former employees to pick up checks except on paydays. So now he has to wait until next week to get his check. This doesn’t even sound correct or legal. Am I…
Told to work overtime ( without pay)
My senior has told me to work overtime, without pay. This is my first job which I got very luckily seeing the job market now ( and me being a fresher). This job is very physically , which I only found out on the first day. I am not the fittest person of the bunch, and I literally cramped my knees on the second day. I physically cannot work extra, that too for no pay. The regular salary isn't great either ( it's not even livable) I informed I was leaving at the said off time, but I was denied to leave. He made the excuse that we have an important meeting coming up and I should give extra time. I am kind of scared to confront them about this ( being a fresher and all) What do I do?? Should I ask to leave at the said time after…
And I'm someone who makes a couple sales a day but today nobody was really answering the phone and yours truly got told to log off. Is this even legal to do in Canada? I'm quite upset.
