So just out of curiosity… my company fired me after I tested positive for THC after I broke my finger at work. They had no idea how to handle it at first and hit me with a “ uhhh you’re probably suspended while we wait for the test results” That all sounds standard and makes sense to me. The issue is they took three weeks to get back to me before officially firing me. They then reported to the insurance company handling my workman’s comp claim that there was “no lost time” Indiana law states (per my claim manager’s words) that I am potentially entitled to lost wages for anything after 7 days. Provided they offer light duty or reasonable accommodations in the interim. I have given much of myself to you for months. I was led in by a promise that I would exceed my previous pay. That was a lie. All I have been met with is bullying in the work place and nothing is done about it. I've valiantly attempted your online training but can't as it's not equipped for people with specific disabilities. I have been ostracized due to my disability even tho it was made aware upon hiring. No one wants to work for you but everyone is scared of you. I can't quit and it's been put to my knowledge that I'm being fired due to my disability. Fire me. I will find another job and as a matter of fact have been head hunted and declined because I thought you could do better. Making pizza isn't that hard. But you have had so many people quit lately.…

My brother started a new job but quit after just one week. He only received payment for one day of work. Now, a month later, his former manager sent him this message:”Hello, good afternoon, Your file was left unfinished in the company could you go to the restaurant to make a copy of your passport and your social security as soon as possible please!! Thank you so much”We're not sure if he should comply with this request or if it's normal. Any advice or insights?

I’ve signed a 6 months contract back in February, and they want to extend it for another year. During that 6 months i’ve noticed they’re constantly changing their policies that were clashing with my existing contract. One of many examples my working hours was stated as 9-5. But time and time again they asked me to be available on ungodly hours of 5am, and was uncompensated. There were no clause of banning me from taking freelance gig but the HR did a sudden announcement on none of us can take them. So when they asked me for contract extension I renegotiated my benefits , requested some adjustment to my contract to make sure that those things wont happen to me and was approved. Ever since I think around a year ago, this job's gotten worse. I joined Circle K in one of the convenience stores back in March of 2022. I was in my last years of college and wanting a more laid-back position. It pretty much what I needed. At the time, it was actually pretty good. Usually pretty chill, balanced amount of tasks, always having someone to talk to, etc. However, around August or September of 2022, the manager who hired me left the store. After that, I was pretty much left alone throughout all my shifts. I did try to keep things balanced and good. I cleaned the store whenever I could and took out the trash after my cashier run was done. But, one day, I became literally discouraged to do so. I am going to be laid off in a couple of weeks. I WFH and will receive a few weeks of severance pay (and all my accrued PTO). Does this disqualify me from receiving unemployment or can I still apply? FYI – The reason for my lay-off is that my company was recently acquired by another company and my position is being eliminated.

I hurt my back using a concrete grinder after being on my hands and knees for 10 hours a day with no days off for weeks my own mistake of course. Eventually this caught up with Me and my back was exceptionally soreone day , as I bent over I collapsed and had no strength to stand up and layed there sprawled out. I am getting fired from my job due to a physical disability (that I got from overworking) which causes severe pain when attempting to work using the office equipment rather than my arranged setup at home. Every single task that I do involves the computer exclusively. When I am at the office, I am on the computer all day and rarely have time to interact with people. I stopped coming into the office for a multitude of reasons, but primarily due to a real health issue that makes it excruciatingly painful to do work without my special desk arrangement at home (this cannot be replicated with the standard equipment used at the office). I have no pain while working at home. Even though we are severely understaffed. I have a very high stress corporate job. Every morning at 3am I wake up due to the stress of it and replay the plan of how I’d kill myself until about 5am where I fall back asleep for another two hours and wake up and go to work again. The thing is I’m too chicken shit to actually go through with it. I don’t know how this became my life. Of course I need it to pay for a roof over my head because to live is so expensive. I used to love life. I don’t know how this became me.

I made a mistake saying I’d be flexible for my job thinking I could get a raise. Even spoke to the DM and he said he would look into it. Nothing. Now I’m the guy who is scheduled the shit shifts and shit days no one wants to work. It started off as me “taking one for the team”. The job needed to cut hours and asked if I could jump onto another store to work. I said sure thinking it was only for a few weeks. It lasted 7 months. Meanwhile the rest of the crew kept their desired work days and full 40 hour status while I drove up to 36 miles out of my way to work a few days at random stores on any shifts they wanted to work me.
