Extra work with no extra pay

Currently working 2 full time jobs; one person higher up left the company and I have to cover them in the interim and my own job. Lets just say my job is much lower in pay and I’ve been asking for the extra pay for over month now (since starting covering). My boss and HR keep saying “its in the works” but not doing anything about it…. Any advice on what to do?

Hearing Impaired Receptionist??

Hello, Everyone! So, I'm looking for a second job, possibly to be my primary job for awhile. I really want to work in an office as a clerk and/or receptionist. I am hearing impaired and wear a hearing aid in each ear. I know there are disability protection laws that make it possible, but I'm more concerned with the ease of communication utilizing technology of captions on the phone, because chances are I will not be able to hear most of a phone conversation. Any thoughts or ideas?? I have office experience, but I only answered phones occasionally because of my disability. Thanks in advance!

Inequality in between sections

Today in Australia we have this thing call R U OK day? It's supposed to be a day where you ask your mates if they're okay and what not. Our work put on a small breakfast for us. I work in the operations section of my workplace, we got days old doughnuts, cheap juice where the cups that were provided were mouldy and some very unripe fruit. And not a single person in management even asked how any of us were doing. The indoor staff however got a nicely laid out spread of salad wraps, sandwichs, fruit platters, tea and coffee, the whole shebang. And they wonder why all of us outdoor staff don't like the indoor staff

I’m not even 20 and I feel guilty and burnt out

I just graduated highschool, and I've been working since I was 15. I have two jobs, one of which I'm assistant manager at. Needless to say I get taken advantage of a lot and not paid nearly as much as I should be getting paid. And for being young, id say I'm a responsible employee, and take my jobs probably way to serious. I'm very very burnt out, but I feel guilty when I have a day off, which is rarely ever, but guilty nonetheless. I don't want to continue this way, I know it's not good for me, but I can't imagine telling either of my jobs I need time off? It just makes me feel bad, like I'm doing something wrong.

I’m tired and demotivated

A little about me is that I’m a Dip. student who is currently doing industrial training (intern) for 3 months. I applied the company as a graphic designer only and it’s my first time working too. I work at a small company where my employer (also the owner) has 4 children who work under him and let me tell you, it is hell. I work on a different floor than my employer with two of his daughters which is the Art Director and (?) [I don’t really know what the other one does]. Both of them would rarely come to work. Absence in communication, planning etc. happens every single day. Since they barely come to work as they state they’re WFH you would expect one to at least reply texts or calls? No. They don’t. Not on time. I’m not talking about 10 mins or 20 mins late it’s HOURS…

After 3 years, I finally got my disability.

Rheumatoid arthritis is something that is supoosed to be automatically approved and I finally just got it. It took threee years which would came to a judgement from a judge. Normally, I would get backpay from the moment I could not do my normal job, but last year I had to do something else we would be homeless so I found a job that I thought I could do but was eventually fired because I could not. However, since I made money last year, my disability got reset. The judge even took into consideration the fact that I could not maintain that gob . I am getting 8 months back pay but I don't have to work from here on.

Got sent home today—because I declined to do work of a lower position

For context: I work for a pool company, been in the industry for almost 10 years. Started with construction (dig, shovel bitch, rebar, plumbing, tile, coping, etc) Moved up to the service department, where I learned to clean and maintain pools. I also learned how to do renovations on pools. I also learned almost everything there is to know about servicing all pool equipment. Today, we got done done a bit early, and came into the office to get some more work. They said, “well, you can go clean some pools to help the guys out,” which I respectfully declined. I’ve been cleaning pools for this company here and there, because I know how to do it, and I’m good at it. But, I was hired on as a service technician and made it clear when I was hired that I don’t want to clean pools. Well, today our GM…

I walked off the job after eleven years..

I'd been a contractor the entire time, until I was made a sub!!!! Advancements were impossible due to persons not retiring. Keep in mind I'm in my late forties, so when I say persons not retiring I mean it. I'm well respected in my field so I have 'fruitful prospects' but I'm conflicted. I think I want to leave my field. After twenty two years, I think I want to go do something other. As an example, if all the power went out tomorrow and never came back, I'll have done nothing with my life. Hit me where I think.
