That's about it. Thank you for any advice!
I get it some form of exertion must happen so sustain life. I’m not a fucking moron. But I don’t agree that it needs to be 40 hours and coerced. Why am I getting called a lazy piece of shit for not wanting to work a meaningless job till I die under coercive force? Heaven forbid I compare being forced to work under implied thread to be forced to work under implied threat. It’s nothing alike. /s. But people will be like “you want people to do everything for you?” No want a world where people volunteer their contributions to society willingly. I want a world that takes into consideration the way human brains function optimally. I want a world where my kids won’t have to do needless tedium to survive. Or at the very least the concept of freedom of choice and individual rights are given precedence over profit.…
How do i get out of minimum wage
So I just moved to USA, I'm 24 years old. I'm working throwing out the trash from labs (hazard and shit) they pay me Min wage which is 15 (Massachusetts). But I keep getting assigned more and more trash to take out to the point I can't even fit it on my 8 hours a day schedule and I'm getting burned TF up after only 3 weeks working, my whole body hurts. TLDR : how do you guys started to get better jobs without going to school or better pays I guess. I feel like a slave here, don't want to work for the next 40 years just throwing trash for 8 hours straight with only 30 minutes to sit down.
You laid off your best and most expensive workers and shifted the work load onto me and my other coworkers! I was not prepared for that level of work nor do I have the skills to do it properly. Also, most importantly, I am not getting a pay raise. So yeah, I am leaving. This is a job. I'm here for money, that's it.
Is this company crazy?
Check this crazy out! Is it just me, or tis is insane right? for $16? for a possible opportunity to get a raise after an unknown amount of time https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?from=app-tracker-post_apply-appcard&hl=en&jk=a5c9008e9608c013&tk=1ha8bbvqsos66801
What can I do in this situation
Okay long story. My(21m) gf(19) lives with my parents and I. My dad is a narcissistic asshole and used to think I would go do drugs instead of go to school for some reason. ( I graduated top 3 in my class and was attending medical school at the time) anyways I took a break from school to work and am about to start school next semester. I switched from a previous job to a better job with tips as well and I guess he didn’t believe me so he went to the old place of work and asked me if I quit, why I quit, and if I really went to this new place and which one. She gave him any info he asked for. This has created a whole menagerie of problems and now he is threatening to kick her out because “we don’t help pay for bills”…
Does anyone else find this
I’ve started three new jobs in the last 2 years and every single time, they tell me that they are transitioning to a new system. What the fuck is that? Is every business just always updating their systems? It’s extremely irritating I go through a months worth of training to have irrelevant knowledge after a short period of time. Anyone have some insights on this phenomenon?
My fiancee is a Dental Assistant-turned-Administrator with ~20 years of experience in the field, and I swear most of her bosses have been complete idiots when it comes to running their business (including compliance with labor law). Just in the time we've been together, she's had: The first one she worked for after we got together had her working sub-40 hours a week, and whenever she would have to pull overtime because of the increasing number of job duties she was being saddled with, the dentist would split that overtime across paychecks to bring her up to 40 each week rather than pay time and a half. Her bookkeeper was adamant that this was legal, despite the sign in the break room explicitly saying it's not. She also hired a business consultant who taught “The Secret” as a business strategy, and who encouraged his clients to simplify statements into what…
