Sitting in an empty dead silent office

It's me and 4 other people sitting in an empty silent room. Waiting for leads/phone calls and more money to make. This is my work life. Either hours of silence, or mad rush of sensory overload. We could all do our jobs more efficiently and happily at home. But here we are because real estate, and greedy selfish business owners. Is anyone else in the same boat/looking for something better? Anyone have any resources or open hybrid/wfh office jobs? For a bit of context, I have an extensive background, mostly in office and admin work. I feel kinda hopeless right now. Putting on my headphones and trying to forget I'm here doesn't work for that long. I'm scrambling with applying to other jobs, even just for a change of pace.

My boss threw me under the bus during a meeting I wasn’t present at

Posting for the first time. I also created a new account for this. I posted in AmIWrong subreddit but I find it fits better here. This is long so thank you to everyone who bears with me till the end. I’ve (28F) been working at this school since last December and I’m so done with everyone’s bullshit. I could really use some perspective here because I’m all over the place and don’t know what the smartest choice is here. To paint the scene- I work part-time at a school in Europe as a behavioral specialist. I oversee parental communication, work with children in the afternoon hours as a counselor, craft workshops for the staff members and educate them on early childhood development and how to best support children with special education needs, and I create and implement policies and preventative measures against bullying, racism, religious discrimination, etc. An important fact…

If my boss fired me for asking about OSHA requirements….

Do I have a legal battle ahead that’s winnable? The situation is unsafe and uncertified drivers not being addressed after raising concerns a first time

My boss is such a grumpy rude man

I’ve worked as a cashier at a small natural health food store for almost 2 months now, and we’re not allowed to sit down at all during our 8 hour shifts (which is pretty standard and annoying, but whatever). Anyway: today, I was leaning against the counter where I stand at the register. And I guess my boss was coming up from behind me because of all I sudden I hear him tapping his nails against the counter top and he goes “___ sit up.” And then he walks away. Like dude I wasn’t even sitting! But I guess even leaning back slightly is unacceptable. He’s so rude and grumpy to me and all my coworkers. Also did he have to tap his nails against to counter to get my attention?? I’m not a fucking dog! Anyway, rant over. It just pissed me off. Also can we normalize cashiers having…

Would you drive into work?

I’ll try to make this short. My work is 30 minutes away (not that bad of a drive, but that’s not the point). Someone apparently hacked our server over the weekend. Monday, we were not about to log in or use our computers. (There isn’t anything that my job position can do without the computer) so they sent us home at noon. I work 7am – 3:30pm. For Tuesday, my manager told me to not come in until 8 am because that’s when IT would arrive. All day yesterday, no access. Computers still down. I hit my breaking point at 2:00 pm and said I’ll use PTO, I don’t care, I’m getting out of here. They sent everyone home at 3:00. Last night I got a group text from my manager saying we probably won’t have access again today, so do not bother driving into work, but she will text…

Yesterday, I was called out for not wearing a belt and told never to let it happen again..

As the title says, yesterday I was called out for not wearing a belt. Nowhere in our dress code does it say you have to wear a belt. My supervisor told me that he could see my boxers a little bit when I sit. Instead of just allowing me to pull my pants up he said I need to wear a belt and if that happens again I’ll be written up.

Found in my towns unofficial Facebook Group. How dare entitled people not just act like slaves and instead they demand what works for them.
