Tim Gurner says the quiet part out loud. The ordinary person needs to be put in their place so that the rich can get richer. The rich aren’t even hiding the greed anymore.

Timeline of Worker Protections: From the Womb to Death

In the Womb: Your first workplace is the womb, where you're treated like royalty. Free rent, 24/7 catering, and no taxes! Birth You're out! Say goodbye to that luxury suite. It's diapers and sleepless nights from now on. Toddlerhood Ages 1-2: As a toddler, your “job” is to be adorable. But beware scraped knees. Childhood Ages 3-11: You attend school, where your schedule is set, and homework is mandatory. You get “summer breaks,” but don't forget to do your reading assignments! Teenage Years Ages 12-17: You can now babysit or mow lawns for some cash, but forget about that dream of lounging by the pool all summer. It's called summer jobs, not summer vacation. Maybe you work night in a factory in Idaho. Adulthood Early 20s: Welcome to the workforce! Say hello to your entry-level job, where you earn just enough to pay bills, with a side of student loan…

I have 3 weeks notice and then was fired on the spot.

I gave 3 weeks notice to my job today. I was trying to be nice and give 3 vs. 2 weeks. My boss got annoyed and said your last day is today. Now I'm out 3vweeks pay as my new job can't use me for 3 weeks. Immediately as my call with my boss started I sent an email to HR letting them know my intent to leave in 3 wweeks. There is no way she saw it as I planned to send it right as the call started with her so me quitting was documented. Can I get paid for any of my 3 weeks?

Owners got in a personal fight and ended 200 careers

So about 10 years ago I worked for a USAF parts supplier that performed repairs on old military aircraft. The company had been around for about 40 years and it had moved to a small heavily minority area about 10 years before (for government contract reasons) and the low cost of labor. It was privately owned by two very wealthy former real estate lawyers who got rich brokering condo sales in Florida. Everybody loved them and talked so much about how they cared for everyone and worked with people when sick and stuff. Almost all of the employees lived close by and had no previous experience but they got these supposedly great jobs so about 200 well paying jobs fixing aircraft popped up. Most of the people never worked in the aircraft industry anywhere else and while they developed skills at their specific trades almost nobody had outside experience, education,…

Just a reminder your work doesn’t actually care about you & you’re replaceable to them

Over 5 years into my job & literally put blood, sweat & tears into this; leaving for something else soon. Take your annual & sick leave off before you leave or you might lose it.

Seeking Advice on Exiting My Job Without Losing Benefits

I (32 F) work in customer support at a well-known fintech company so this is an obv throwaway account. So. I used to love my job and my performance has been consistently perceived as excellent. The thing is, as a “reward,” I was promoted to a higher-responsibility role with the same salary. To put a cherry on the top they also constantly schedule me to the night shift, which is taking a toll on my health due to a health condition (I'm currently in the process of getting a medical report to address this issue). Here's the dilemma: I want to leave this job, as I no longer see any growth opportunities or feel adequately compensated for the damage it's causing. However, if I quit, I won't be eligible for a substantial insurance payout due to my long time at the company. I've even tried intentionally lowering my performance, but…

How do I get my pay?

I have worked for a small non-profit for a little over 3 yrs. Up until July 31st, I have been paid. I have not been paid for any of August. I asked my boss about it and he says he will take care of it. I have reminded him several times that I have not been paid. What can I do? How do I get my pay?

Doctor’s note from Kaiser to work from home? (Toxic Work environment)

Hello, does anyone know if I can obtain a Doctor's note to work from home? I have Kaiser as my insurance. I'm trying to obtain an emotional support animal (ESA) letter for my housing situation but I'm curious if either I can use this letter for convincing my work to let me go hybrid a couple of days out of the week or if there's a separate letter that I can obtain for that. I've read a few articles stating that ESAs do cover workplace accommodations but I'm unsure and looking at all my options. Even since I started this job and especially taken on my current position, the job has caused me to go into the deepest depression in my life. Plus with the ridiculous work schedule they have given us (it's a play on 4 (10)s but you work 4 (9)s and 1 (4)…)it's hell and my circadian…
