We just had our annual insurance meeting at work for open enrollment of 2024 and was told by our provider that most dentists have pulled out of accepting insurance. That means most anywhere I go, it will be out of network. I have two plans to choose from. One covers about 50% of the cost out of network and the other they didn't say, but it's in the 90th percentile of covering the most for out of network. Please tell me again how the US health system is better than universal healthcare. Sure I'd have to wait to go see a dentist, but as it stands I don't go unless it's absolutely necessary (like a cracked tooth), so I'd rather wait and be seen eventually.

Sharing Private Appointments -Outlook
Yesterday, during a meeting with her supervisor, my wife’s goo boss demanded she screen share and show her calendar. The sole purpose in doing so was to view my wife’s private appointments. Then she proceeded to discuss and make comments about those appointments. It’s a very flexible gig. Is this intrusive, rude, or nosy?
I work as a specialist at a great company with no intent to ever leave. It's one of those rare megacorporations with strong ideals that proactively puts their employees first. I like to leave my LinkedIn page up and absolutely grill the recruiters that reach out about salary/working conditions/any policy I can think of at the time then turn around and decline the offer due to x y z insufficiency on their part. It's actually lead to increased salary & benefit offers on rare occasions but I still ghost them. Know your worth, don't settle for these bum ass corporations offering you crumbs for intense labor.

Kevin's part time job paid him almost 70% more than the current federal minimum wage. THIS is what happened. THIS is why people don't want to work. It was done to the workforce intentionally. Not created by lazy kids.
EOS/Traction Trauma
Hi! Longtime reader, first time poster here. TLDR; EOS is weird and I want to hear your stories. I'll try to keep it short. I've been trying to find posts on people's experiences working in a company that uses EOS/Traction. It's weird because I feel like I hear about a lot of companies that use it but nobody wants to talk about it and that actually kind of contributed to the ick that I get from it. For those who don't know, EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) is a super specific way to run a business that focuses on meeting formats, cultural jargon, and “putting the right people in the right seats” and it's based on a book called Traction. I've been working for this company for almost a year and there's a lot I like about the structure but I feel like certain systemic issues are overshadowed by the toxic…
I work for this hotel and yeah, I had an altercation with an employee after searching my phone. I forgot the phone in the back unlocked because guest needed help and I rushed to help the guest. Anyways. They didn't fire me but for some reason x employee who done that gets away with a lot of things. Nothing happened to her, hotel manager said the phone thing is between me and her. I was like whatever. Said employee doesn't show up often and they are fine with it. My other coworkers have complained about that they need to have me on the schedule especially when she doesn't show up. They have been giving me only 1 day until last week. This week they went ahead and gave me 4 days somehow. I was glad actually. And the only reason I haven't quit is because this job pays more than…
Am I crazy for being frustrated over doing my bosses and co-workers dishes every day? I work as an admin in a small engineering firm. I am the only woman among 4 grown men (I am 30 and they are 50+). It was not explained to me that on top of regular admin work I’d also have to do everyone's dishes. When I was hired my colleague said “We all help each other out here, sometimes I'll do dishes” but I have been the only one to do the dishes everyday since I’ve been hired (going on two years). Even when I missed three days because I was sick, they just left all their dishes in the sink to fester until I came back. They throw their dishes into the sink without soaking them and without neatly organizing them and when I brought it up to my boss he said “I’m…
