I recently quit and I’m confused because I have 220.84 hours of unused PTO and I was told it would be paid out on my last check. Can someone please help me calculate? They are saying it’s only 9 days but it’s not right because it would have to be split up in 8 hour days right? Or how does this work? They won’t respond to me. ️ Someone please help. I’m probably not asking google correctly. I get paid $21.00

When the average life expectancy is 77? Or you can retire at 62 with 'reduced' benefits. Please explain the logic behind this?
Is my boss a psycho
Ughhhhh where do I even start??? I started a new job in April of this year. Literally what I have been trying to get into ever since getting my bachelor’s and almost finishing up my masters. I wanted this job since yearrssss. After a few years of applying to this position like 6 times a YEAR for three years I got an interview and got the job!! The interview went so well. I was so effing happy. I found my people. Two months in it all changes. My new boss gossips, makes up stories, is very dismissive and pretty sure she’s a narcissist. I am at my wits end. I’ve reported her behavior on multiple occasions. Nothing changes though. Upper management keeps believing her. I know if I keep doing good work myself within two years I’ll be able to move up but it’s starting to wear me down. I’m…
Working for family
Working for family I’ve worked for my dad for almost 20 years doing plumbing and heating. It’s a small company, just me, dad and one other employee. Dad is looking to retire at the end of the year. He has always said that he wants me to take over the business which I intended to do. Well, a few months ago he hit me with a business proposal to have me buy the business from him. This was the first time he had ever mentioned me BUYING the business from him instead of taking it over. Working for my father, I assumed he always had my best interests at heart. I assumed (foolishly) that I was being paid a fair wage and all that. Well I recently discovered that I have actually been getting paid a bit less than others in my field. Between $3-$5 an hour less than others.…
Is this type of on-call work legal?
I have a remote position that requires on-call work. We answer calls to schedule things. The on-call duties are the same as during the day when taking calls, just with fewer calls. Lately I've been talking with HR about being paid for shift work for this. They only pay a stipend and then time worked at the moment. I looked up state laws and federal laws on on-call work and it seems they are not paying us appropriately. HR says there are no plans on changing our compensation. Some of the laws I read say “an employee is considered to be on compensable duty if he is actively working or waiting to work and is not permitted to use the time for his own purposes.” And this describes our job. We are waiting, be it a few minutes during the day, for each call. Or several hours, when on-call, for…
Rejected After Dozen Rounds
Sorry long post. Throwaway. Went on couple of interviews and assessments for a small-sized company. Rejected couple weeks later for not having experience in the realm. Details: Assessments: Spent some weekends doing the assessments, when I could have used to freelance and earn money. The assessments really couldn't showcase much about the candidates' capabilities (I know, bc I have done other large companies' assessments after this, and passed). Assessments were sprung onto me last minute–didn't seem like they had it planned before. More like an impromptu thing. Last few rounds of interviews went really bad: Venue Change Got asked to move interview venue less than a day before the interview. Which meant that I had to travel further away, which was impossible at that time. Said no. Got a reply less than 12 hours before saying to stick to ori plan. This caused me serious anxiety. Got bashed Got asked…
I got my boss “transferred”
It felt great. I'm too adhd to type the whole thing but it boils down to: He was terrorizing everyone with his heavily micro manager-esqe vibes, then he decided to go after the audhd kid (me) with the same mannerisms. I have PDA and don't like being treated like a child. I called him out on his unprofessionalism in front of customers and employees. He tried to give the macho “this is how it works here cause IM THE BOSS.” speech I contacted HR and also the district manager. He was “transfered.” to another store to terrorize other people. Work has been a little more peaceful ️:) But I don't agree that he should even be in management. He should have been fired honestly just on his attitude alone. Why is it the old geezers that have these positions acting like it's the damn military? Psychos lol
I’ve been at this company for 2 years now and I have always worked Mon-Fri 7.30-4pm no issues. Now all of a sudden he wants me doing 8.30-5 and says I have no option I have to do it. Can he do that?? I know that doesn’t sound like much of a difference but I have a life outside of work, gym classes booked etc. It also takes me nearly an hour to get home with traffic at 4 so I know it will be even worse at 5… I have refused these changes so waiting to hear back……. Any advice if they persist? Thanks in advance
I stepped down from a leadership position though I did well in it and was crafty, was solution oriented and proactive, I was also drowning, my work life balance sucked, I wasn’t provided the staffing to properly make the work place function nor wS I given the needed suppor to do thrive in the role better. They really wanted me to stay in my position, promising me things will get better by a year and even provided me a financial incentive to stay. I will also mention that another lead left a month before me for similar reasons. So you got two team leads quitting within a short time period. So initially I was quitting but decided to stay on as “as needed staff” to help fill in coverage gaps when needed. My relationship with my manager was outwardly okay but she consistently downplayed my staff and team leads concerns,…
I do the work, but I’m not really a fan of the work and schedule, I enjoy the money, but time is money, I rather work for myself just I have no energy after work, I wanna quit and go back to school
