I bet I have taken 5 already and I’m having some issues with my mental health. Has anyone ever heard of jobs limited the amount of unpaid sick days given to their employees? This is really weird, right?
Month: September 2023
I’m a salaried employee that gets 10 days of vacation a year. My company is closed December 22-Jan 1. My boss is telling us we have to use one of our 2 weeks of vacation during this time or else we won’t be paid for Dec 26-29. Is this legal? I’m in the US.
Hate these types of companies
We want you to be a commission only sales rep for our great company, but you have to be a door knocker to get business. FUCK YOU!!
Kinda predicted this would happen cause his wife has been extremely bitchy + mean. TLDR There was lots of miscommunication & mismanagement (by the wife btw) that was solvable but by the end of the day, I was to be blamed instead of her. I was even called on even after working hours & was left unpaid + getting mean messages as to how I didn't even know how to work properly. I've been diligently working my a$$ off building the company. The only thing I asked was WFH (I didn't even ask for a salary increment) only they gave feedback about my past mistakes & that I didn't deserve it. Right after I was providing my feedback & solutions on how to help the company strive – they put up a new job post to replace me & told me that maybe this job or any job was not…
Obligatory on mobile so formatting might be janky. I (female) have been working for this company for about 6 months and we have a strict dress code that I follow closely. Our uniforms include a dry fit polo that comes in men's and women's. When I got hired and was assigned my uniform pieces I requested to get a men's cut because the sleeves and length fit me better than ladies. They gave me ladies cuts. No biggie, I'm pretty easy going so I just wear them and don't complain even though they're a little tight in some places. Yesterday I came in on my day off because we had a maintenance emergency that shut our location down for half the day. While I was there helping out (I'm salaried btw, so this was completely on my dime and unpaid) my store manager said we need to have a talk.…
Throwaway account for anonymity. After tons of job searching, I was hired a little under a year ago by a friend of a friend as a remote worker. It was a huge win for me as I had very little experience in the field I was hired for. He has trained me, and I feel that I am a good employee. I do my work well and on time, and have only ever received positive feedback. Recently, however, the role has changed a bit and now requires traveling for two weeks on, two weeks off. I am not happy with this arrangement, as I was hired as a remote employee with a 40hr work week. I don't want to be away from home from that long, let alone have to go and spend 12 hour days with some of these coworkers. I have made it abundantly and professionally clear to…
I need clarification.
I’m SC. I currently work for a company where I am payed commission. I decided to look more into our contract and found that the contract itself is based from NY stating that any work we do shall be compensated to no less then NY minimum wage which is $15. Now here is my question. Do I have possible legal action? We do unpaid “chores” at shop, sometimes offered $10 an hour of shop time or drive time, which is rare at most, and sometimes my effective hourly rate for the week is under the $15 mark. I apologize for this being jumbled.
Just quit this job like 15 minutes ago.
Not only was I getting paid peanuts by this man, he wants ME to pay 600 dollars of MY MONEY (which I do NOT have) and cop an attitude??????? GTFO. (Background: he’s surprising some other employees, but I’m his fucking punching bag? Fuck off.)
We work a 2-2-3 schedule, so every other week, we work 5 days at 12 hours a day, they shifted the pay week to starting on Sundays so they dont have to pay us overtime on the week we are scheduled to work 60 hours.
