So I was working with this company for 9 months and also getting married in the process and due to the stress and drama of the wedding planning and had anxiety attacks followed by depression episodes so I missed over 13 days of work in 9 months I had my review they let me go. So can I file for unemployment?

Let me start off by saying when I started my career in the trades. I was young and motivated, I wanted to learn everything. I’d get paid and immediately blew it on tools to make me a better and efficient worker. I met some good people who taught me stuff and met people I didn’t want to learn anything from. Fast forward 6 years I understand the process of a lot and can finish with higher quality then most. I asked my boss for top dollar which was basically what the rest of my crew was making, Only to be told I wasn’t worth that much YET, My employer stated “ you don’t have enough time in the industry to make that much” So basically “you value time over work ethic” you care more about time with the company then what I provide the company with production So then came…

Intensive study and work caused by neoliberal capitalist policies has result in a massive increase of myopia prevalence since 1970s in the western world. If in an egoist anarchist society anyone can choose what they want to do instead of meaningless near work then would people's eyes be better protected? Please share your opinion thank you!

Last year they worked her over a 100 days in a row. I’ve asked her and she said she’s scared to do anything because she doesn’t know what the owner will do. She keeps track on a calendar how many days she’s worked and the owner has seen it and has the audacity to get mad at her for keeping track. I feel bad for her and many would say it’s not my problem but I believe in worker solidarity and recognize if he does it to her he would try it with any of us

Long story short, my workplace was recently making some changes with new job titles and everything (same jobs, people just getting more specialized titles) and me and my coworkers got wind that promotions were coming. It's something we all speculated on for months if not longer. We've heard about others getting promotions elsewhere in other areas so we were excited when ours would be coming. Well, that day has come..we all got our meeting about out the new direction, and basically got told “thanks for everything, we can't do it without you all, heres your new job with us, but…we hate to do this… it doesnt come with an increase in pay. Maybe one day we can work something out and pay you what we know you deserve.” Talk about a kick in the guts. I don't think I've ever felt this bad at any job as I do in…

As the title suggests, I’ve been asked to do an exit interview that I will absolutely not be doing. Help me craft an impeccably “professional-speak” response? Here are options for what message I’d like to come across -why on earth would I waste my energy giving you feedback when historically this company has shown itself to not care about employees opinions? -you’re an emotionally unsafe person to be in a room with, and I respect myself too much to subject myself to you -this company has disrespected employees for years, why would I do you the favor of telling you how to improve Nothing is quite as satisfying as a perfectly crafted, professional sounding and yet read-between-the-lines-fuck-you response, help me craft one!

What do you think if we could go from 5 day work week to a 4 day work week but we work 9 hours instead of 8. 36 hours a week being the new norm. It seems like that would be so much better for productivity , health and work/life balance. The same amount of work would get done , since a lot of hours are wasted doing nothing. It's crazy to me how it's been like 100 years and we haven't tried changing anything.

Basically, the nightly manifestos are the department manager chewing out employees who forgot to clean something, didn't prep enough of something, didn't clean something well enough, etc without naming names and sending it to everyone in their department. These are multi-hundred word screeds with threats and all that good stuff, but this is the first time one has been threatening to send somebody to jail. Shown verbatim, misspellings and all: 8 piece chicken consists of 2 breast 2 thighs 2 wings 2 legs 10 piece is 5 thighs and 5 legs. This is not negotiable. I don't care what they as for. This is how it comes of they want something different it is 8.99 a pound. Point blank period. If I find out it's not done this way it's considered stealing and you will go to jail. [Another manager name] will have you arrested.

I have been working since I got my first car (16) and have been in the work force for over 25 years. I remember my first job fondly, I looked forward to it. I was lucky and grateful enough that I never fell behind on any bills or on the brink of homeless.. so every job I took I was able to choose with consideration. I love working. It's made me a stronger, better (relatively) person, grew my brain, learned a lot, boosted my creativity, but over time with the change in work culture and toxic society, I realized it is not the work that I despise, it's just the people. Put me on a project all day everyday and I would do it. Put me in a job that required inense labor, that's ok too. No problem.
