I'm working in a workshop and I'm scheduled to go on a testing for carpal tunnel every year. I was thinking if it's theoretically possible to fail it on purpose so I could go on a sick leave. My wrists are hurting a bit already, because the workload is insane.
BBA in management, 1**k in combined student debt, $800/mnth living expenses. Working 40-45 hours a week making 700/wk pre-tax (New York). Before settling for my current position I left a toxic workplace making 23/hr working 50 hours a week. Left that job abruptly due to a panic-inducing back-and-forth with a coworker (Org consisted of 8 people total), which left me jobless for 2.5 months. After over 400 applications, 30 interviews, and countless phone screens, this is the best I could land in my current city (Syracuse, NY). Starting to think about applying to jobs in larger cities, particularly on the East Coast to avoid too much travel until my SO finishes grad school. Has anyone here had luck applying to jobs outside of your area without much professional experience on their resume (1-3 yrs)? I graduated late because when doing my final project I lacked data and had to change the topic 3 times. I got severe burn out and depression in between, now I slowly recover and able to finish my college, now I really hate its so little full time job opportunity in my country. The average maximum age accepted is 25 years old, because corporations abuse power by looking for interns over and over again they able not to pay expensive salaries for old employees. Now i feel like really left behind by other 'normal' people who already have a career path.

About 3 years ago I graduated with my Associates Degree in Computer Science, I worked as an unpaid intern for a year(yes I do regret it) then accepted a job at the company starting at 16hr (I do regret this as well) Now I am in a better place truly , better pay, benefits the whole package they are even paying for me to continue my education of course as long as I work a couple years. I work at a company that has a history of doing shady stuff, so I just want to make sure what they're doing isn't illegal. I am a Level 1 employee at my business. I sit next to my coworker who just became a level 2. My bf who also works there is about to become a level 2, so I asked my coworker what the raise was when they give you promotion, if he wasn't bothered by discussing it. He got really nervous so I thought maybe I offended him, but he tells me that they were told not to discuss their pay with us level 1s because of the fact that they're our superiors now. Social justice is more important than math. Math is a social construct created by white men to push white supremacy on the rest of the world. It is an attempt to quantize and objectify “truth” which erases the lived experience of non-white people in particular. 1 + 1 = 2 has not made the world a better place, but teaching children the realities of white supremacy, internalized misogyny/racism, and how to express themselves with gender/identity politics is the true path to a better and more inclusive world. Math oppresses the creative mind and the very nature of peoplekind.
A little background- I, as most career firefighters do, work for a governmental body. Think waging 20 year wars, and MASSIVE corporate bail outs. That type of government. I am part of a fire house in the mid west, and I work with, and for, some really good people. We work a 48hr on and 48hr off schedule. The industry standard is a 24hr on 48hr off schedule this is set by our policy makers at “HR” out east in D.C. this basic difference means we work about 18% more hours than the industry standard, and the government saves a TON on benefits by only hiring 2 shifts of firefighters instead of 3 like most other departments.
