I work at a very small company. 12 people. On a personal level I like them all. But only 3 are really good at the job. Leadership doesn't understand nor has ever done the work we do. I've only been at my company a short time, but in that time we've resolved a lot of the dysfunction (though clearly not all of it)… But still I've done it by pushing myself to the brink of exhaustion. Just because I couldn't handle dealing with the problems. I did a ton of training, I built a ton of processes, I built a lot of relationships and communication skills for myself and other, I worked to better ensure project management, and setup. So I spent 210.69 on groceries Saturday. 2 adults and 2 under 2 yrs old who eat “normal food”. I had to go to the food bank today because we just cant keep this up. We are in a much better situation than most, but honestly I'm at 62 hours so far this week. Hubs is at 30. How did we get here? How am I working 16 hr shifts and not sleeping and STILL unable to afford life. How is this real? We both have good paying jobs. Degrees! I'm asking my boss for a raise this weekend. Got a list of accomplishments from the last 6 month's, but if he says why after the list I'm going to start sending the dude my grocery list for him to buy for me in exchange for less pay.

My sister is a talented writer, and been in the field for many years. The company she currently works for is a mental health organization. She's been in the industry for quite some time, but she's new to this particular job as she was on maternity leave, and desperately wanted a work from home role (to care for her baby, and also since they've moved far away from the city recently so there's no opportunities nearby). I put in my notice at my old company in early July with a last date in late July. I left because of bad ethics. My old company asked if I could stay on the payroll but just put my “out of office” on and take holiday until they thought through communications to the rest of the team. My last day in the office was 7/28. I started my new job 7/31. The old job let me know via text on 8/31 they would would like notice on 9/1. I provided notice 9/1. So basically what happened today, they needed someone to go part time and picked me. They were only going to give me 21 hours per a fortnight. I said I’ll think about it (they said that I only had a day to think about), as it is extremely less than my casual hours I get (around 36-38 a fortnight). They also knew I was trying to find another job. So the manager tried to tell the regional manager that I wasn’t fond of the hours given. They've directly gotten me fired from all secondary jobs, don't pay me enough and have fucked around with my friends and family way too much. It's not even the mob it's just a franchise store.
