Told my boss the truth today. That I was not long for the job, had enough f-u money to not care, and so many things were wrong. I could see the gears grinding in his head. He clearly went right to his boss. I don't know why monkeys are so cruel to each other. I just wanted a few bananas and some lice grooming without having to present my red butt to too many people. I guess now the lions are gonna eat me. Farewell, corporate monkey games.

The U.S. Is In A Collapse: A Theory
Not mine, but a friend sent it and I'm thinking many of you may enjoy the post: ————————————————————————————————————- When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, I watched Star Trek: The Next Generation. I soaked up the vibes of a high-tech, utopian future. I internalized the trajectory we were on was good, that we had reached the End of History. There might be a few bumps on the road, but the direction was inevitable and the destination was inexorable. It turns out that the fastest a human being has ever traveled was 39,897 kilometers per hour. That was the crew of the Apollo 10 mission returning to earth. That happened on 26 May, 1969. Fifty-four years ago. We peaked more than half a century ago. In the US, life expectancy peaked about a decade ago and has declined to 76.1 years, reaching levels from about three decades ago.…

Stopped working / responding
Hey! So I currently work for a big 4 accounting firm and have recently stopped responding to any emails or teams messages at all for about 2 weeks now. I am obviously not going to use this employer as a reference, but are there any other legal repercussions that I should be aware about? I am waiting on them to fire me but don’t know why I haven’t been fired yet haha.
Not asking about doing anything dishonest to my hard-working corporate overlords, I was just thinking it would be a shame if I were to come down with one of these medical conditions.
So many job descriptions I've seen in my field recently include some variant of “Must be able to thrive in ambiguity”… What's up with this? It's an immediate red flag to me. I've had some past job experiences that were made much worse by a lack of clarity on job roles, delegation of certain responsibilities, getting projects started, project review, processes, etc. and this just screams to me “It's up to you to figure out your actual job roles once you get in the building, because they will likely be more expansive than what's in the description. Also this means you will be open for evaluation on work that you shouldn't even be responsible for. And it will also be your fault if things fall through or the process gets caught up regardless if you are a senior-level employee or not.” This drives me nuts. It really should never be…
Someone I know requested two weeks off for around his wedding. Instead of this, he was given less than a week.. He is so conditioned to the abuse that he was like “well, if I do not do well, then I shouldn't get time off.” That is insane to me. I have never once believed that shit in all of my years of working. Why do people just lie down and accept this shit!? This is in the United States by the way, land of the FREE :eyeroll:. Why do we as a country allow ourselves to be worked to death by our CEO overlords? I know why, because people are uneducated here and think that Europeans have less 'freedums' than we do… but holy crap the indoctrination is deep. I just needed to rant. I am angry for this person.
Almost every time when I applied for part time jobs want to know about college, where I exactly live, my age and life backgrounds. Those are just easy jobs doesn't require certain degree or something but they act like they are big companies. I personally don't want to share my stuff unless it's “Actual Job” and that's the why I'm afraid to take another part time jobs if I want to. They are too picky and tend to waste my time on job interview because most of them won't hire me. Also, there are too many part time jobs that only hire certain gender, and have age limitations(like if you over this age, you can't apply for this job) where I live and that is pretty much discriminatory.
Just discovered this recently because my new job does not give us breaks or lunch breaks. You have to buy something and eat it behind the register when there's no customers around.
