I work a very part time position at my local chain store. My position is the first to get off after closing. The manager and another position stay longer to finish closing. Last night the assistant manager was closing. I stayed a little later last night to help out. The manager then came and had me and the other worker clock out at the same time. I was made to leave while my coworker stayed. I told him this is not legal and he basically said, “This is what I have to do to finish.” I want to make a complaint with the department of labor. It seems like this is common. This guy is 20 and in his first semester of college. He's young and being taken advantage of by a multi billion dollar company. Should I have a discussion with the general manager or district manager as well?…

working on Labor Day
I'm a barista at a coffee shop that stays open on Labor Day. Today I'm here first thing in the morning on a holiday, and nobody is coming in because who the fuck gets up early on Labor Day to come get coffee? Not only am I NOT making holiday pay, I'm making pretty much minimum wage because I rely on tips and nobody is here. I'm feeling so angry at the business owners and management who are all at home right now while we are here running the show bc they're too greedy to just close today. But hey, Labor Day right?! All the white collar workers get to celebrate it while the working class laborers all continue serving them. Such a fucking joke.
I’m the only one on today?
I was working at a local Sonic drive in. But I'm getting ahead of myself already. It took 3 weeks to get through the interview process because she (The owner of the fucking store) kept setting up times for us to meet and then not showing the fuck up at all when I arrived early. So by the time I even got the fucking job, I was fed up with the place. After finally getting to work, they proceeded to put me on 2 days a week. I wasn't supposed to be working part time. I specifically asked to be working full time. This went on for about month, since I figured I would get more hours as the days went on. No dice. One day, I came in to work as a usually did, when I noticed something strange. There was nobody in the kitchen. I was the only…
No salary correction hence resignation
I was promised a salary revision basis on offer I received from another company. It’s been 5 months, the company hasn’t revised it and told me that currently all revisions and promotions are on hold. I’m planning to resign with no offer in hand. Just to take a small break and meanwhile find something else. But they are just verbally telling me to trust and stay back.
TLDR at the bottom. Background: So I started at my new workplace a little more than a month ago, I'm still in my 3-month-long probation period (Europe). I work work with people from all over the world, it's a highly international team. My boss and my other colleague are from differing countries. One of my colleagues, let's call her Sarah for the sake of anonymity, is from the same country that I am from and we have been kind of “assigned” to work together and get trained by her since it's probably easier due to no language barrier. Almost everyone works from home, and Sarah and I have to go to the office twice a week because we're in the same country and city and it's “nice to socialize”. The problems: Whenever I am in the office with Sarah, I feel anxious because she just can't stop complaining even though…
Should I report this to my boss?
It's only been a week and I'm wondering if I made a mistake joining this place. Basically there are two girls and two guys. One of the girls is the HR. These people are obnoxious, which I can deal with. But the problem is that they laugh and scream really loud and also hit each other. Like the girls hit this one guy like its all fun and games. Then he'll try to be funny and throw markers at this one girl. The HR is extremely unbothered by it and she partakes in all of it too. Initially I ignored it because I've worked in awful work places before this. But then on Friday they were deciding whether this one guy should be allowed to go home or not based on an arm wrestle. The guy said no and the HR kept pestering him over and over again to do…
This is going to be long and I don’t expect anyone to read. Don’t mind me. I’m just venting frustration. I’m 27. Just “celebrated” my 1 year anniversary for my 3rd job in 4 years. I have a WFH job paying me 85k a year. I can generally afford all my expenses just fine. And I have never wanted to quit and give up more in my life. I am feeling straight up depressed suicidal these days. I feel stuck and I’m intimidated by what it would take for me to unstick myself. And I feel pathetic because I’ve let a damn accounting job do this to me. I hate accounting so so fucking much. It’s boring and tedious and annoying. And now for the first time I have a job that’s not only tedious and annoying but its fuckin hard. I basically work at a bank accounting for loans…

Company cut my pay 3 dollars
It's exactly as it sounds. I was in a transfer and during the transfer/ move (bcs I moved) they fired me bcs I showed up on the schedule still, this is a month later mind you. So when I finally get the hiring manager to deal with my case, the same job I've been doing for the last year, certified on all machines, knowledge/ experience of operations yet they're paying me 14 dollars? I moved into a house, my fucking bills got more expensive. I'm about to fucking lose it. I never have enough. I'm honestly debating clocking in and leaving. But I had to call out yesterday since I had no ride. So my jobs probably over anyways.
