So I’m doing the bet 5 dollars and get 2000. I don’t watch sports or anything. Is there an app that can just do the math for those predictions by itself?
Month: September 2023
My boss has started writing how late people are on the schedule. Just feels like a shitty move. I work another job that doesn't get out until 130 and I'm supposed to be there at 730. Been about 20-30 minutes late the last 3 days. Obviously I shouldn't be late but I don't feel like shaming me is a great management tactic.
Had this weird intrusive memory flash back from before Covid and thought I’d share. I was trapped trying to work next to someone casually doing at-home hygiene nail clipping stuff aggressively loudly at their desk several times a week. It’s over now and I tried very hard to mind my own business at the time but here’s the thing(s)… •From just general observation it was clear that the office was only completely vacuumed like once a year if ever inside cubicles. •Why? Do it at home •How so loud? Like over headphones and office chatter loud •How three times a week without having to type with bloody little nubbins? •Was this some sort of passive aggressive time wasting power move? I have more questions about this persons general behavior but these are the ones that clearly haunt me.
I hate my job vent
So my job is pressuring me to get out from teaching a class on time. The thing is I was given no assistant to help with the class it’s sort of like an instructional painting class. However, the manager said if you don’t finish in time then I should consider giving you back the assistant but she had originally taken away from me. He said you won’t be able to keep the chips of course cause you have to split it among two of you. He said that he wanted to do that so that way I can get out in time so it’s not money out of his pocket. What doesn’t really make sense is I don’t recall being very late and from my calculations regardless if I got out late, it would be the same for him or less money than having an assistant the whole time. He…
Like the title says, I've only been paid $20+ an hour twice in my life. I've applied and applied to higher paying positions for over a DECADE with no success. I've never worked in my field. I've bee stuck with labor for ten years. Why is that? Is it because I don't have any professional contacts? Didn't network like I was expected to?
Go skydiving, go freefalling!
I was recently in a meeting where the CEO excitedly announced they were giving everyone 3 paid “well-being days” off per year for full time employees. Everyone cheered and clapped at being given 72 measly hours of their whole year back as if they were receiving a huge kindness, but I could barely stifle a laugh because of how dystopian and gross it was that THAT was such an awesome bonus for people. It was like capitalist brainwashing was playing out in front of my eyes. Not to mention these “well-being days” are just designed to keep people from burning out and quitting completely so they don’t have to bother hiring anyone new.

physical work harassment
I just started this new job at a locally owned company, and today I met one of my co-workers for the 1st time at shift change. We were alone at first, and he was showing me work procedures and how he does them, and all the while he was showing me stuff at the computer, he would continuously poke my upper arm pretty hard with his finger to “get his point across” with what he was showing me (no pun intended). Not only that, he would come in super close to my face with his face, and talk super loud at me. When I went to press a button on a radio call, he forcefully swatted my hand away from the button and took over. I was starting to get super annoyed by his forceful actions towards me, I was cornered by the desk and his chair, so I rolled…
Yearly appraisal is coming Me and my team has worked exceptionally well, with managing above and beyond and meeting most targets. Reviews are good with internal and stakeholders. Never recieved any complaints or negative feedback. We are the best team my manager is managing which is why he forwards shit to us which is not our core Job , expecting us to check. Everything was fine till a month before, but suddenly I see a pattern with my manager who is suddenly developed memory loss of our achievements. These are his regular pharases these days- 1. When meeting with a new leadership members, the new leadership often doesn't know what has already been done and gives advise that you should do this this and this. Half of the things we already have done, but my manager instead of highlighting positives, goes on to agree that yes I agree, we haven't…
