Basically title. One added thing, especially when the work can be learned with onboarding training.

I noticed often times people who are jobless, especially when they live off welfare, get depressed and miserable. How does a fulfilled life without having a job look like? What are your tips for making the most out of your free time as an adult?

I'm sure I am not the first person to realize this. This morning, it dawned on me that any business open on a Stat holiday and paying for that day off plus 50% more per hour for the employees who are working that day, are therefore admitting that can pay employees 50% more everyday. The gov said this day is a Stat for whatever reason and people should have the day off and get paid for it. Exception is made that if a business wants to open: then they pay the workers working on that Stat 50% extra, and still give them a day off with pay. So, they know the stakes and still decided to open and pay that extra 50% in labor costs just so they won't lose revenue for the day or their competition will get a chance to make more than them for that day. I work at a retailer in NY and we just installed self checkout. We were told, “For your safety, employees are not to use self checkouts. It helps reduce any perceived issues before they happen.” Basically you can't get accused of anything if you don't use it. Days later I was off of work and in a rush, but I needed to buy 2 items from my work for an event I was attending. There was a small line at the only open regular registers and I waited for about 4 minutes as a single customer with 1 hand counted every single dollar and every single coin she paid wih. I was in a rush and couldn't wait any longer, so I used self checkout. I then proceeded to take my receipt into the office, show the manager on duty (which I didn't need to do) just to be safe…

How tight are the regulations on this? I may need to ask this in a different forum. My example. Let's say we get paid a salary of $100k/yr. Normally, we do the work software design and development work outlined in my job description. If that was it, there would be no questions. However, we are required to go out on deployments and it looks like we will be doing an increased rate over the next few years. These are multiple weeks per deployment with having to be onsite for 12-14 hours per day. On deployments, We do not write code. We don't write specs. We are glorified tech support. So, when I'm working on my usual duties, I'm exempt. But when I'm on deployment, am I entitled to overtime pay since I'm not performing duties that are exempt? Or could my employer come back and say we could be asked…

Hello, I live in California and just picked up a new phone. I realize once I backed it up that I had old applications that I had previously deleted back on my phone. One of them was access to my old employers camera. I quit this job due to a hostile work environment and once I realized I had the app I would look in to see how things were going from time to time. I realized that there is a log that shows how often the cameras were looked at. I have admin level access, and I believe everyone else who has, the cameras do as well. They were never given individual IDs. My question is, can I get in to any trouble by accessing those cameras? I have since deleted the app and never shared any of the footage anywhere. Any help would be useful! Thanks.

Does anybody else feel like, when different people say “small business” they mean different things? I'm a small business owner, I also feel like I hear people use the term to describe fairly large financial operations, pretty distant from a small mom and pop shop or sole proprietorship. There's also a plethora of small business owners using their status to downplay shifty employment practices.

Hi, I live in Russia. I wanted to ask you how you think, if I get a salary of 40000 rubles (part of it goes to utilities, about 7 thousand), and recently I bought a new computer (rtx 3090, ryzen 7 , etc), I can consistently buy food, pay for medical treatment when necessary (although we have a free), should I think about moving to America, there I want to earn more? Or is it fine as it is? I am about middle class by our standards. Thank you

Quick backstory:- About a year ago I joined this company, It was my first job, and the pay was not good but I needed a job then and worked hard for a couple of months and learned so much there and after 7 to 8 when the company decided to expand they make me a team lead and the CEO says we will talk about appraisal shortly, remember I haven't asked for the appraisal and I was happy at least they are noticing my hard work. The company got a huge client my team and I worked hard at that time. I worked for a month straight without any weekends off. After that, I noticed my boss ignoring conversations with me and when I asked for the appraisal CEO said You have just spent 9 months with the company, and your appraisal will be done after you have worked here…

So I had an interview went great manager even complained about people not wanting to work that was Friday afternoon Friday evening I got a call saying we wanna hire you and they'll send the email. No email. Next day I contacted to inform they said web site was down. I tried to reach out the next day no response. And so on called the restaurant asked for the manager to busy to talk. All this after telling me a bunch of people left nobody wants to work. It's been a week and every time I try to talk to the manager nothing.
