I feel like Labor Day is a top five holiday and should be celebrated more. It doesn't rank above Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, memorial day. I believe people forget about the meaning behind this day.

It's a little bit of a anger rant butt thought all y'all would enjoy. So basically I just recently got hired to work at a car dealership that has a car wash area and I'm a detailer that works for twelve dollars an hour and it was the end of my shift yesterday I had about an hour left there's no cars nothing to do nothing to clean and a gentleman walked up to me and was talking to me. Just general guy on guy talk and he explained he wanted to buy a new vehicle for his 18 y/o daughter and he was thinking to buy a big ass pickup truck and I was like unless your daughter is a farm girl or a construction girl she's not going to use it so how about getting her a nice hybrid car it has really good gas mileage they're about…
Force overtime
Hello, I work for a security company. My normal hours are 7 A.M to 3 P.M. Lately every weekend I have been forced over to do security for a concert. The concerts go until midnight. But here’s the kicker, the concerts start at different times. For example one day they might start at 4PM-midnight and the next 6PM to midnight. You do not start getting paid until the concert starts. Yesterday I got forced over so I got off work at 3 and had to hang around for an hour, today I got forced over again except this time the concert doesn’t start till 6. This means I have to hang around unpaid for 3 hours. It also means I do not have 8 hours between the end of my overtime shift and start of my next shift. I consider this a safety issue. I also think it is unfair…
Currently im a Full time employee in a coal mine company been working with them for 1 year and 2 months at my current posistion Located in Canada. Saudi Job Offer
Hi. I need help. I signed a job offer from Saudi. And I'm not thinking of backing out. They're going to send the employment contract soon. I don't know if I am binded to the company already. Is there a possible penalty if ever the company chase me? There's a noted in the job offer letter that says “This offer is not a commitment to employment” Any advise please is highly appreciated. Thanks.
Having a boring time job hunting , which is going slow af . Anyway what are some hacks you use to land you more interviews and speed through this job hunting process faster Like networking with people on LinkedIn or calling the company to ask for a follow up on your application
For context, I work for an in home healthcare company that helps people with disabilities be as independent as possible. Things like personal care, household chores, transportation to doctors appointments, etc. I work from home for my mother and have only one coworker. (60sf) Oh. My god. Things were fine when I started. Despite the fact that I’m doing intense work (anyone else in this line of healthcare can understand the difficult, stressful and sometimes dangerous things that go on) I was started at $9.90 and am only now making $12/hr. I work from 9am to 8pm 3-5 days out of the week (mandatory every other weekend) and 2pm to 8pm 2 days out of the week. Any doctors appointments or vacations my coworker takes days off for are put on my schedule without a phone call or even a notice, I just find out when our schedules are mailed…
I Hate the Idea of “Networking”
I’ve never seen anyone share this sentiment, so I’d like to hear what others think. I want to make friends and meaningful connections naturally. Perhaps by happenstance, shared hobbies, similar situations, et cetera. To specifically seek people out because you want a job, “networking,” feels fake, self-serving, and manipulative. I don’t want approach people and try to make a relationship with them because I need to get myself a better position in the world.
Sundays are not even my regular days and this is the fifth Sunday that my manager asked me to come in and my manager has the tenacity talk down to me each Sunday I come in when it's only me, him, and another coworker. I don't make enough money to put up with this. Maybe he should learn how to talk to people next time. I simply clocked out and walked away with my manager right behind me trying to stop me. I didn't say anything. I simply kept on walking. Anyways, I can home to pick up my bike and I'm going out for a bike ride to enjoy this Sunday. I'm not worried about anything else at the moment.
