I'm not working for free nor answering questions for free. I don't get paid enough to do my job when I'm not there.
Month: September 2023
There's quite a lot of history and context to this request but I'm going to keep it barebones due to the industry I'm in. Every few months, we have a committee meeting after hours (think 6pm – 8pm) with several important representatives of note. There's roughly 5 attendees from my team, 3 (including myself) in similar roles to myself – and we essentially give an introduction on who we are, what we look after and then take notes, which are compiled a day or two later. Quite frankly, I don't want to attend. I'm over these meetings and I've been burned out by a job where I've been put into a ridiculous situation. I can go into the reasons, the history but best not to. So the meeting is in 3 days. They do provide you time-in-lieu and a simple, I don't want to won't cut it here. So need…
I got fired within 72 hours
I had been at my previous job for over a year and finally resigned for a better opportunity at a certain cookie place known for chocolate chip cookies & the color pink. I read the reviews and they were mostly positive, and some claims about some franchise owners being horrible managers. None of these were about the store I would be hired at, or the franchise owners I would have. I got hired as the assistant manager. They left me dangling for weeks trying to figure out an opening date/start date/and training date. We finally set one. When i went to sign paperwork, all the paperwork was for the state i would be training in, not the store I was hired to be at. I go to train, and they have me two hours away staying in a hotel room with a girl i have never met. I work, i…

so. I noticed that it seems like the only time you ever see rich people doing stuff to benefit society is in fictional works. Some major examples i can think of is the Dark Knight Trilogy of Batman, where Bruce Wayne’s parents used their millions to fund things like the Gotham Monorail system and other major public works that would effect lower class folk in a good way, or even folk like Tony Stark who used his money for things like the Avengers, which protected folk of all classes. Why is it that real people with that kind of money almost never seem to do such things for the Public to the point that some of the most famous fictional characters do such with their wealth
The United States, a country where even the homeless can be evicted from under a bridge because cities are more concerned with mopping up the portrayal of their streets than helping those who live in such conditions. The United States, a country without universal healthcare policies, resulting in healthcare inequality in which the wealthy have far superior healthcare resources than the poor; those who are nearing, are at, or are below the poverty line are less likely to have insurance, and, as a result, are more likely to die from illnesses. Having poor health increases your risk of developing things such as cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, tuberculosis and suchlike. And if you are impoverished and manage to get treatment at a facility by chance, you are likely to receive subpar care and will still probably be ripped off. The United States, an “advanced” country where any future medical advances,…
Every fkng time!!!
For some context, I used to work for a certain fruit company and my fiancee has currently worked there for the past three years. At the end of last year and part of the beginning they preached how they wouldn't lay off people and just do a hiring freeze while there was a pay cut for some of the higher ups. A few months into this year they started to crack down more on some stores trying to form a union (they did push a bit at my fiancees location to squish it and scare the employees). At the beginning of the summer they started to lay off and fire people for little to no reason, you call out? have to leave early due to being sick? You're gone. Fast forward to this month now. My Fiancee and her coworkers were just notified all FT & PT workers must change…

New job is paying scraps
I’m 16 years old and am planning to move out as soon as I turn 18, so I need a job desperately. I went around to 6 different locations, and all but one told me to apply online. The 6th, a pet store, gave me an application but pretty much told me they weren’t going to hire me. I went home and applied to all 5 locations. It’s important to note that I’ve had two jobs already, didn’t get fired from either and both managers were willing to give good recommendations. I know this is more experience than most kids my age have, so I figured I’d have a shot, especially because most of the places had hiring signs in their window. So I applied, and radio silence for four weeks. I finally called one of the stores, thinking that the online applications didn’t go through or something, and they…
