Title says it all. Had an argument with an old man about working from home, the benefits and the cons. I seek to work from home in the future and now Google and other companies will be pushing people back to the office. It just doesnt fit my personality and I don't have an issue meeting people once or twice a week, but the main reason I aim for IT is the fact that WFH is a work benefit. Am I listening to capitalist propaganda or does it have any basis behind it?

I work for a tech company as a technician. My job largely consists of doing a lot of testing and rework for electronic assemblies and it’s not a bad job. Recently we just had a big reorganization of our workspace and there was basically nobody managing the move. Us technicians aren’t able to deal with all of the aspects of planning the move, primarily because we’re busy, and there’s like 6 conflicting management groups putting their opinions into the mix and nobody sets expectations for what they want. Recently I got news that the upper management structure perceives us techs as inefficient and “too chatty” and a lot of it has to do with how this move went. The inefficient thing is frustrating as shit because when it comes to the people keeping the workspace actually functioning, me and another technician are responsible for all of it despite it not…
Some good news near Labor Day. The threshold has been so wrong, for so long. If you make less than $55,000, the Labor Department wants you to start getting overtime pay (msn.com)

Schedule posting
As a part time employee for night shifts my schedule gets changed a lot. Can anyone tell me when my schedule has to be posted by? Most times it’s around 3-5pm on Saturday which can be very hectic if I need to work that night.
I agree. No one wants to work
Seriously. Why would anyone want to work? Animals don't want to work. They do enough to get by and then lay around all day. They don't hunt because it's fun. Humans are meant to do the same thing. CEOs and the owner class don't want to work. That's why they got these jobs. Because owning things means you can make others work instead. They know work sucks and they don't want to work. If you're enjoying your job, or if you're enjoying a physical task, that's not work. That's a hobby. There's some jobs that suck less than others and we'll gravitate towards those when possible all we can do less work, but if you win lottery, you're probably quitting your job because nobody wants to work.
I graduated this year and started my first job about two months ago. Thanks to the internet I already knew employees work 10+ hours on a daily basis. My team come to the office by 11 a.m. leaves by 5 p.m. and continues the work at home till 9-10 p.m., which is honestly much better than a lot of the other teams, who have to stay in the office till their work is done. The problem started when this new girl joined my team about two weeks ago. She is the ideal employee. She comes to the office before everyone else at 9.30 a.m. and leaves after everyone, at 8 p.m., even though no one has told her to. Once, I overheard her jokingly telling her mentor he should finish his work instead of talking about going home. I am not a very social person and am terrible at small…
This has been on my mind the past couple of weeks and how so many people are tied to certain jobs because of money and others don’t want to go to certain jobs because they don’t want to go to school for 8 years. If you could just hop into any job this instant, just based off of pure enjoyment, what would it be ? Thank you for your time
I have always lived by the motto “respect everyone” and was always behaving like that but i started losing that since my first job 5 years ago. First Job: i started working as a working student for a company of 2 people and was running projects on my own and then i have quit in the middle of the project because i was clearly underpaid and worked 60+ hours a week in a toxic environment. After i quit and started a new job the old employer sent an Email to me with a CC to my new company saying that i didn't work as a software engineer but rather as a social media something and was trying his best in the email to make me look bad. I called them on the phone saying what is wrong with you, they answered that it's because i have quit in the middle…
