Pretty much the title, recruitment process involved multiple interviews and test and was for a position with a extensive training. I didn’t get through the last stage and all I got was a generic email from an automated address! And that what bothers me the most, that in the end I’m just a number for the recruiter and once they don’t need me they don’t give a fuck. My question is should I respond to the email, cc the recruiter I was dealing with through the process and just politely let them know that generic email was not right?

I live in California, graduated with a B.S in molecular biology from Stanford, and have been applying to jobs. I applied for a position at Kaiser, but was given a lower position than the one I applied for because they still wanted me on the team. This position pays $20 an hour… for context, it costs $20 to park in their work parking structure everyday. I have student loans to pay off, rent in the bay area is impossible, not to mention other living costs. I no longer want to work there but am so far into the hiring process, and was considering just waiting it out and working there until I found a better position. However, with me having to go out of my way for a drug screening , their insistence on contacting every single one of my past employers, and the fucking $20 an hour they approved…

We dont get a vote in our work place and the government won't help us. Biden made a railroad strike illegal Unions have been co-opted by the corporations they supposedly oppose, and get bogged down by the rules that we didnt even agree too, and by the way, the corporations dont follow the rules. We need solidarity with ALL workers, no matter their politics we have to get along because we all know things have got to change!!

since corporations have been making record profits off of basic food and sustenance necessities that are proving to be more and more expensive for everyone else (and blamed on “inflation”) the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program should be expanded to assist more “middle class” Americans with accessing those items. most of the American workforce right now cannot afford to eat a healthy and sustainable diet because of budget constraints. i am not talking about median household income statistics or anything that someone will come along and try to derail with, i am talking about affordability of food for the average American worker, which as of right now is unsustainable with the rise of other basic living costs. if something isn't done to help make life at least more bearable for the ones who are being looked over right now because they're just a step above being homeless this country will start…

So I have worked in Higher Ed for 5+ years now in support staff roles. So “production” and “managerial” structuring is not like standard companies or retail or fast food… you end up a lot with overqualified people in support staff roles and faculty (who started their careers with subject specific goals and knowledge) in leadership roles and steering the ship. I have a Masters degree in a subject area but decided early I didnt want to be faculty. I enjoy helping people and am very good at high levels of administrative and clerical duties so thats the route Ive been on. 3 positions in across 2 different “companies” I feel burned and actively traumatized. These companies like to call themselves “a family” and that leadership has open doors… its a farce. I feel so down cause I thought this front desk job at my college was going to help me gain experience. It was not fun for me because I had to work alongside the manager which made it so stressful because she saw everything I did and I was held at a very high expectation. I really did try to do my job but I had other responsibilities with school I was expected to put in so much effort and memorize every rule and procedure. I had to do a lot of things that didn’t allow me to develop my customer service skills and other skills required for the job which ended up hurting me. I only worked 10 hr weeks and some of them were slow days which didn’t allow me to show that I was doing good. They said I didn’t meet their expected evaluations after doing bad…

I got sick and work I will health care, I'm a DME provider. I woke up sick and told going to a doctor doesn't “protect from termination.” I have 20hrs of PTO. When I ask if I can use that I'm told it's too short notice. It's laughable how they tell me people in this industry often get sick, yet I get sick and it's like the world's going to end. I worked for that time off who cares how and when I take it?

I’ve been bartending/serving at an “entertainment venue” that offers bowling and arcade games for the last 5 year. It’s a pretty miserable place with insanely high prices and loud shitty music playing all day. We recently started a new special promotion that is a pitcher of beer and a large pizza for a discounted price. We had a meeting today and I was called out in front of everyone for having the lowest amount of sales of the new promotion and was told if I don’t start selling more I’ll be documented and my shifts would be cut. The thing is I usually work every Monday (slowest day of the week) and maybe 2-3 other days if I’m lucky since it’s the slow season and hours are being cut. I recently started working as a personal shopper for a retail warehouse that rhymes with Pam's. Thinking it would be easier than the amazon FC I accepted the position. The job description had no minimum job requirements listed. In the interview no questions were asked and no mention of lifting requirements. Im 2 weeks into this job and finally reached out to HR to find out the lifting requirements for this job is 70lbs. The location is so short staffed the shelves are barely stocked and I'm constantly digging into pallets in the freezer/cooler to pick the items I need, so I'm stuck doing my job and that of merchandisers. I'm a 130lb woman coming off disability. Everything hurts and I feel like I'm going to die if I have to do this job another day. I feel deceived by this corporation. I physically cannot do this job.

This is a throw away account. A little over a month ago I started a new job with an amazing close to 200k salary. I was recruited by a former coworker who picked up a director’s position. I was given a strait forward set of guidelines and job description. This company had been sitting stagnant in terms of growth for the past year, so I was expecting some challenges.
