Your Health Insurance Sucks

You wanna know why calling your health insurance is absolute dog shit? I'm tracked on so many different metrics for handle time. Those metrics are then used to distribute raises and bonuses. The a few of them are handle time, correct information given, time spent adhering to a schedule, extended break time, along other things. Handle time, this incentivizes is to finish the call quickly. Not to give accurate information, but just to finish the call quickly. The benchmark they have to be a 3, which is meeting performance on a scale of 5, is about 7 minutes or so. Very few people actually fall above that. Correct information given, I used to be audited once a week. A dedicated employee would pull one call a week to review. Last month I took 1025 calls. That's not counting providers who had multiple patients, just the amount of calls I had.…

Management now has mandated hours

Before I started working at my job it was stated that we would have flexibility on the hours we work as long we completed 40 or more hours a week and attended all expected meetings. For me, this was a big draw throughout the recruiting and interview process. I have only worked there for a couple months now, but everyone seems pretty upset by this change. However, recently they stated it will be expected that we are at work from 9-5. There are no working hours specified in my employment contract, just 40 hours a week. I am really annoyed by this change as I enjoyed the flexibility it gave me, does anyone know if they can actually enforce this??

A girl I trained with trained me, then I was told to work faster bc I needed 25 extra minutes on my first day

Packing orders The store is new and needs to be restocked They're also moving items A lot of my pick list was “no location” (which we report missing and skip) And customers get 3 mins to choose replacements Hella customers asked me hella questions I has to find the answer to Ofc, being that her first day was immediately before mine, she had limited info to share. I was even able to show her a thing or two Just hated my higher-ups treating me like/being awkward with me because they heard I work too slow… 25 minutes too slow (also raw chicken spilled in the bag right when I finished) on my first day, being trained by someone on their second (And I'm 99.9% sure she didn't get trainer pay)

Suspended for Whistleblowing

I recently got suspended from an applied behavior analysis clinic for whistleblowing exploitative behavior on the CEO’s part. He keeps offering full time work on indeed but never provides the full time work to anyone. The most I was able to work was 25-30 hours, which wasn’t enough for expenses. I also have two autoimmune disorders along with cptsd/depression and I kept asking for reasonable accommodations to complete the work remotely. If I’m exposed to children too often (they get sick a lot) I get sick and it usually takes me 4-7 days to recover depending on how strong the virus is. I kept letting them know that I can complete the work with accommodations but they kept giving me in person, home to home work. I kept getting sick to the point where I no longer have funds, eviction looming, and car repossession looming. I don’t know what else…

Feeling what I thought was a bit of imposter syndrome, come to realize it’s a loss of passion for my career

Not sure where else to post this. 4 years of software dev experience. I (M 28) recently started a remote job, within the past week or so. I had some pretty drastic personal problems occur. I’ve had a couple days on the job to “train” but it was basically getting my system setup. After that I was immediately tossed into two big projects to work myself. I realized after getting this job, which I was excited to get previously due to pay / benefits / etc… I am no longer even remotely excited anymore. My gut wants to go work something more physical, a new career even. Does anyone have suggestions for new careers that may find this experience valuable?

I hate work and I need help

Hey guys, I’m stuck in a rutt. I’m out here in a major city in Texas. I hate work, I don’t like working, I want to avoid it at all costs…however I know that’s unrealistic. I have about 5 years experience in the sales world, made great money but wasn’t happy because I didn’t care about what I was selling and hated being a desk jockey. Then the last 2 years I went into the auto industry because I love cars and started wrapping cars. I didn’t like that because the 2 people I worked for never paid on time or didn’t pay enough and I got laid off recently so I’m stuck right now. No one is hiring, no matter what, I’ve tried everything. Can’t get interviews can’t get anyone to respond, I’ve had a background in recruiting so I know exactly what to do and how to make…

COVID obsessed business owner.

(didn't know where else to post, if not allowed here plz delete but recommend where I can vent) Now listen. I'm not an anti-masker, not a plandemic believer. I got COVID and it was awful. But I can't help but know the extremes of both sides, and feel the need to highlight both Both sides of the coin have extremes, and this is well…one side. He still has a mask policy in store and has these articles/essays posted right when you walk into the shop, adding more all the time. He will tell anyone and everyone about COVID and the potential side effects. Daily. He is immune compromised and I would be much less annoyed and more forgiving if he just left it as “immune compromised family please respect our policy and right to a safe workplace” But he doesn't leave it at that. He harasses people on the internet,…

Tired of corporate life and 9-5 but can’t find a way out

30 years old guy here working as a Software Engineer in Europe. It’s close to 7 in the morning and I couldn’t sleep well last night. And I can’t finish my sleep with the time I have before I need to get ready for work. I know I’m not the first person to make this post but I just want to vent. Being from a third world country I have been slogging my ass all my life trying to achieve ‘happiness’ and a higher standard of living. Earlier I had things to look forward to but now I don’t know what to do next. My job eats up all the time I have. I recently started to take gym more seriously working out 6 times a week which I enjoy but what I realize is that now I have absolutely zero time to do anything. Between going to office and…

I ghosted a bad job offer and they lost their minds that I didn’t respond to them.

Ok so I'm actually expecting to get a little hate for this cause you know, just cause some people treat you like a dick in the career world doesn't mean you should stoop to their level. THAT BEING SAID, I did it anyway. Whoops. I got 3 interview requests at the same time last month. It was crazy, in this market? Holy moly. So, I go through the first interview with the first company, get through the process pretty quickly because let me be clear, it could literally have not been a better fit for me. Not to sound too braggy cause I'm really not that cool, but I'm in a niche field and to find someone with my level of experience for their opening must have been an easy day for that recruiter. Go through the whole process, I'm even transparent on what about I make now for salary.…
