I just walked out after waiting over 15 minutes for an interviewer to arrive and I was curious; how long would you wait to be interviewed?

Am I crossing the picket line
I just got offered an engineering position (salary, non union position) at a union plant, would I be crossing the picket line if I accepted the job? I’m glad the uaw (appears) to finally be standing up for workers after so many years of being in bed with management and I’d like to stand in solidarity.
Today I learned the service department of the small company I work for is ripping people off with the backing of the company owner. Now what?
I have a passion in life. This job doesn't let me do that. I also can't enjoy life with the money I earn. I don't know what to do. I'm at university, I still have a while before I finish. I'm unhappy with my job. Any help?
Hey all! I just graduated college, and I got a job where I took over for someone who was in the role for 25+ years. This person did things the way they preferred… it didn’t always follow the rules and bent over backwards for everyone. Now that I’m fully transitioned into the role, how are frequent customers keep reminding me of how my predecessor used to do things. “Well he used to do it like this” or “He would do this for me!” or “Why would you change this?”. I was fine until today, someone introduced me as him AND after that, someone told me I created chaos by changing everything since he left. How do I stand my ground without insulting anyone?
An Unjust Cycle of Corporate Hazing
There is a rampant exploitation that persists in the modern work world, particularly the injustices suffered by our newest workforce members, young people and fresh graduates. Pervasive in our societal psyche is this absurd belief that 'earning your stripes' is a mandatory rite of passage, that graduating from high school and college and entering the workforce must necessarily come with an induction period of extreme hardships. This notion has been so normalized that it’s seen as a preparatory phase; to get you 'toughened up' for the real world. Yet, isn't it both hypocritical and counterproductive for us to spend years nurturing, educating, and developing young adults, only to subject them to an ordeal once they step foot into the professional landscape? The irony is brutal. We advise our children to dream big, to reach for the stars, and then, when they are just starting, we stand by, accepting the dismal…
bi-weekly pay is BS
just a frustrated rant i (f21) only make about $350-$406 per paycheck, which i have to make last for two weeks. its nearly impossible to make it last with bills, food, and transportation expenses. i currently live with my grandparents, rent free (thank goodness) in SoCal cuz i cant afford a place of my own yet. they're unemployed but get disability benefits. i don't have a car, because they're too fucking expensive, and their car breaks down everywhere, so i get an uber for us everywhere, which is $25-$60 per day depending on where we have to go (work, appointments, etc.) not including food. groceries are expensive, so i do minimal shopping, but they're picky, so im getting myself groceries AND getting them whatever they want on uber eats every day. by the near-end of the second week, im left with $0-$3 in my account, and groceries are gone, so…
9-25 “Nine-to-five” Day
This might already be “a thing” I'm not sure, but I just saw it today. In case it's not, the idea is: start a movement of making this date (9/25) Nine-to-five Day!! The calendar year needs more than one May Day per year to bring visibility to the plights of workers. (And let's face it, who doesn't love the song?) Wish I'd come across this idea last year; I'd have really pushed for it since this year we've got multiple major strikes and that stupid handful in congress is about to let the fed govt shut down which will f*ck a whole lot of people. Next year, perhaps? Tell a friend!
I (29F) have been working corporate since a month after I graduated college. I’ve worked hard, tried to network, all of that bullshit that lands you in a career. I finally landed a Marketing job for a major household name company, but they’ve kept me at the Contractor level for almost a year and a half with no definite end in sight – which means I don’t get any benefits. I’m more successful in my “career” than ever but I’m also more depressed than ever. Working corporate is killing me and wasting my life. I can’t find anything else that will pay my bills (I currently make $67k a year, living in north Atlanta, GA). I’ve been searching high and low for months now on how I can swap out of this lifestyle into something more vibrant. My question is this: has anyone successfully swapped out of corporate? What did…
