In my experience working with men I've noticed that you guys got it right. I often find myself struggling over things that most guys won't even bat an eye for, like preparing for upcoming tasks, etc. I generally find most men deal with things as they come up and only if they absolutely have to. I guess we all started out caring but as time progresses you just get that your candle is burning at both ends for little to no compensation. Granted, I work in a male populated field and maybe that's why men are generally more confident than women.

My response these days is very direct, but still nice and professional. Although inside I am screaming. Why does this keep happening? Why do these people think I am an appropriate candidate? It is either this or recruiters asking me to fill positions that require an MD I do not have. Job searching has become a joke, capitalism is basically a parody of itself. Kind of funny: Hello, I wish you luck in your search. I have nearly 11 years industry experience and a MSci degree. Lab Technician is entry level. I have zero interest in going backwards in my career. I hope you find many other interested and more appropriate candidates. I do have a quick question for you; Did you read my resume?

My boss walked into work this morning with a new ring. My boss always has expensive clothes and watched but this ring really pushed it. I made a comment about it and they said “yeah if you would do what I told you. You can get one too” This ring cost around $80,000. I googled it. When I asked for a $3 an hour raise 2 months ago I was told “No, you make commission. Sell more” I make peanuts in commission and sorry I don’t like ripping people off by selling them add one and shit they don’t need. It’s just like a slap in the face seeing where the money goes while I have to worry about what I’m going to have for lunch without going over budget.

My boss just embarrassed me in front of the whole team by blaming me for my teams performance, after I let him know I wasn’t feeling well that day and headed home. I already resigned from this position and the last 2 weeks (hr corrected to 1.5 weeks in their email which isn’t true) are going by so slowly I don’t even want to go back to this insane high turnover micromanaging office, in which I don’t even know who my supervisor is, it switched like 4 times. I’m glad I’m getting out but I don’t think I can work even a few more days it feels like torture.

My daughter works at Pick n Save and she never/rarely gets a consecutive 30 minute meal break. She sometimes only gets 15 minutes once, sometimes 15 minutes twice. She is required to clock out for these 15 min breaks. This is whether she works 6 or 8 hours. In WI, law is no meal break is required for those over 18, but if not able to take a 30 minute consecutive break as “off-duty”, it must be paid. This has been going on for over two years now (she has complained about it to me and I told her to get clarification from her boss and she won't). She brought it up again today and I suggested she contact her union rep to tell them what's going on. I honestly feel like she might be owed big time back pay for what I think sounds like wage theft. So Friday evening I had gotten food poisoning (at the time didn't know stomach was upset was all) I usually work on Saturdays so Saturday morning I texted my boss I was going to take a sick day no big deal. Sick all Saturday and all Sunday. So this morning I was still feeling sick but I knew I still had to go to work so out of respect I texted my boss saying I was going to be a little late. He said and I quote. “I apologize if you are misunderstood on how a work schedule goes but There is no job in America where you can tell them when you will be in to work. You have to ask or request. Please don't let this happen again. You are to ask or request if you can come in late or take time off. Expect us to move…

Even though they said many times were grateful I showed up to the interview because everyone else no shows. We got along well, and I asked for a few days and just got an email they’re moving forward. I’m not exactly pissed because their vibe was weird and the job was a lot of work but damn there’s no leniency to take two-three days to decide to accept nowadays?? Even though every spot is ‘desperate’ for workers? Or is this my fault? Guess I’m never going to ask for that again..
