I have three bosses None of them talk to each other about my work flow. I'm a technician that does work for R&D, production, and industrialization. In Monday meetings when I'm supposed to tell my immediate manager what work I have planned for the week, I simply tell them that I have jobs for the other two managers. So every day I sit at my work computer and watch YT, and shop. Been here for 10 years, and during a normal 40 hour work week I maybe do about 3 hours of actual work. I think that I got into this position because when I was new I took on a lot of work, and other managers exploited that. Then over time I slowly started denying to do jobs for those other managers by saying that the other two managers have me super busy. Now I deny work from all…

Harassment from HR?
I work security at a cannabis company, HR doesn’t want security to form any type of relationships with the other employees at the company, this is NOT in the handbook at all. I have started seeing an employee that is in a different position. Mind you I have seen 4 different pairs of the management team get into relationships with people in their own department. I went and had lunch with them while I was on vacation. Apparently that’s a big no no, even though I have watched my boss come in on his vacation to shoot the shit with someone for hours multiple times. I was thrown off site and have been doing the transport side of security as a punishment. Transport gets no breaks at all and works 12-16 hr days. Both of us are being watched because of our relationship. This last Friday I was on site…
I used to work at a bridal boutique and resigned from this company over a year ago – and they never looked out for staff, everything was about the bottom line. I caught up with a friend who still works there and she told me the water fountain had been taken away due to financial reasons. I found this shocking because the shop is in a listed building that's 100s of years old and the tap water isn't potable. The water sometimes runs brown. As bridal consults can take an hour or more, sometimes customers request a drink of water. In these cases as stated in the title now the staff have been told to pour them some water out the drink bottle you bring to work. The company has told the staff this is legal, although it took me about 10 seconds to Google UK government water provision at…
Apparently this is the determination because I was fired for my attendance??? (I called out a lot because shitty work environment, I’m just a college student I’m not killing myself over a stepping stone job; and I had requested time off from work for a few days to a manager but they never told HR so they counted them as unexcused absences. Told them and they didn’t care.) I thought they were called UNEMPLOYMENT benefits, now I won’t receive benefits until I’m employed??? What the fuck???
Capitalism forgot to mention something
When someone ammases a huge capital. That person should be obliged to invest a portion of that money back to society in a practical way that raises the standard of living for everyone. And not for his selfish desires and pursuits, which may sometimes align to a degree with the benefits of all(rarely) . So then I wonder, why should we allow them that privilege? I guess now that I am writing it , I realised tax is for this purpose xd. A lot of them evade taxes tho, and even if they would pay taxes, we all know how our taxes(capital, work , energy) are utilized. How can we get that implemented? At the same time lobbying is legal.
Was so excited to start working after college because I have just been so bored and felt like my life was pointless. I was given a start day for Monday just to get an e-mail asking for a RSVP to a lunch on that same Monday. I really didn’t feel comfortable going out to lunch since I did not know anyone at the company except the boss and I did not feel comfortable driving far to go out to eat (i’m a new driver). I RSVP saying I cannot attend the lunch only to later find out I was let go and the company had full right due to an at-will policy. This obviously pisses me off because why wouldn’t you just say the lunch was required and maybe I would have gone. But yeah blame your employees for bad communication. Here we go with another boring 6 months without…
Did I do something wrong?
I (27f) work at a tanning salon that’s family run and pays minimum wage($10.10). It’s only 3 days a week but I pick up shifts here and there. This week I went to wash the towels and the knob on the dryer broke. I called her and told her the issue and she was livid. I had a few hours left of my shift so I took apart the back of the dryer to see if I could fix it or to see what parts it would need to be fixed. I have a some basic knowledge of trades so I didn’t think it would be a big deal. I got it so we could run the dryer but would need to turn the timer gear at the source then I text my boss the part number she would need to order. Today I came in to signs all over…
