Hey there! So my 15 year old daughter just got fired from her job at a popular icecream restaurant. The manager fired her for not being able to work shifts that she had told her in advance she couldn't work, and also because she couldn't work after her volleyball practices at 730 pm. In Massachusetts it is illegal for a minor to work past 7pm after labor day. I penned a response to this woman's awful texts and termination she sent to my daughter, wondering if I should send it or just report them to the department of labor. Here's my letter To whom it may concern, It has just been brought to my attention you have terminated the employment of my daughter whom is a minor. I am going to formally request that you mail her last paycheck out to our home. I have also reviewed and gotten copies…

So many people has to go through 4 or 5 interviews just to be rejected and is time for workers to stop accepting more than 3 interviews without compensation. 1- HR screening 2- Hiring Manager 3- Team decision
You lose nothing by asking for more, and wages are so far behind that you really deserve more than that. Inflation went up 25% last year, how much did your wage increase? If you aren’t looking and have been at your job for 1 year or more and they aren’t giving you raises then start looking for a job. You will lose money staying at your current pay.
Just inquiring opinions because this always felt very weird to me. The CEO at my former company required all employees to use his personal LinkedIn account rather than paying for multiple memberships for the team. We would use Sales Navigator on a daily basis and all had full access to his private messages. He would do this with other websites as well, particularly ones with high membership fees. When I started, he had an Excel document with all the passwords that was shared to each employee. He did many shady things but this one was aways very uncomfortable for me. Not sure if it violates the TOS or anything but just strange to me… Thoughts?
I never saw anything like this
Just the title… I guess I'm not looking for advice or anything. Just that my mom would rather die early or before her time than risk us losing any inheritance from medical bills. It's not right… That's my mom…
Emphasis on evenings and weekends!? Get me outta here
I am defeated, sad, and angry
Completely defeated. Like, I lost. I lost to capitalism. It won. I am in my mid-30s and have nothing to show for it. I work 70+ hours/week and have no savings. I have no usable health insurance (global deductible is $8,000 — for my non-US friends: this means that unless I spend $8,000 in a year I have to pay 100% of my healthcare out of pocket. 100%. Walk-ins? That's $300 in most cases.) Same for dental. My teeth are starting to rot. It's been over 10 years since my last dentist appt. I brush and floss but that's not enough for someone approaching middle age (let's be real tho… I AM middle-aged, at this rate). I have 2 jobs. Both pay above minimum wage. I can barely afford a 1-bedroom apartment in a bad part of Brooklyn, NY. Again: no savings. Somehow I have good credit, but this has…
