I am 30F. Working as a Hardware-in-loop (HIL) test engineer for past 4 years. In 2022 got shifted to a new team due to reorganisation. In last two years we had two managers. Our last manager left in Aug, so we were mostly reporting to our leads. The workload was pretty high all throughout this year. My lead started her maternity leave this month. Instead of bringing in a replacement, they just distribute her work among me and 2 other colleagues. This is over and above our workload. I am basically attending all my meetings as well as hers. Plus other junior colleagues we have, they joined only 3-4 months back, so we have to support them to get onboarded onto projects. I have been in talks with management for onsite for last 1.5 years but since the manager kept changing it was difficult. Now they are saying only critical…

My brother calls me all the time, I know if he calls while I’m recording it could screw me up in recording, but in the past when I turned my phone on airplane mode his calls still went through. Can anyone suggest what to do to ensure absolutely no calls go through while my phone is still on and the audio recorder is still in use?
So I started working for this auto shop. The lead tech has taken a liking to me and wants to train me. But he's also told me some dark things about this company. At first I thought he's really stretching it and telling me a bunch of bullshit. He told me our lifts are very poorly maintained, and a lift arm actually swung out from under a F150 that was lifted in the air, hit him in the chest, and sent him flying. Did boss care? No. He ran out to inspect the car while the lead tech was on the floor trying to collect himself. Boss then went inside to call his boss, and still said nothing to the tech. The customer came out and was the only one actually concerned for my coworker. Customer gave 0 fucks about his truck. At first, I thought this was some stretched…
What even happened here?
My husband works at a pizza place, (I won’t say which one specifically) but he is a manager. He signed up for insurance around March, and has been using it for his mental health care since then. We recently received a bill from his provider saying he DOES NOT in fact have insurance. We’ve called around and apparently his insurance was canceled in June, but here’s where it gets weird. He’s been paying for it from his check still. Nearly $200 a month auto withdrawal before he even sees the paystub! How does this even happen?! What can we do? Is this wage theft at some level? It’s already been over $1000 we’ve paid for insurance that wasn’t provided!
Hey, everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has some good recommendations for me to look into for a good career path with some established unions. My wife and I are looking to move soon so any state is a possibility! I have a bachelors degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Thank you!
35m. I’m tired. I’m exhausted. I work 40 hours a week (Sometimes more if OT is available) and squeeze in Instacart as much as possible. My Job pays decently. My only debt is a car payment. I cook at home. I don’t go out but about once a month. I make coffee at home. My body hurts. My mind is spent. I work my ass off and for what?

Office door advice
Ok, I work for a privately owned company that is smallish but not tiny. I received word today that per our owner, we are no longer allowed to close our office doors. No reason was given, just that violating this would result in loss of your door. (Removed from hinges) …. We have employees with sensory issues that need quiet. My office is adjacent to the toilets and often the smells waft in. I close my door to avoid the inevitable reek of poo and air freshener. For reference I am in Washington state. Is this legal? Advice, anyone? I already informed my direct boss that I will request to work from home if my door is removed.
