Unstable job.. leave asap or wait it out?

So my current job has a ton of pros for me. It's a 3 min commute, I only work 4 days a week and they are pretty easy going when it comes to the schedule (calling out for emergencies is not difficult at all) I like my co-workers and the work, but not the boss that's Overseeing things now…and for the most part it's pretty stress free as far as the actual work… but the business has not been stable for a while. Our office closed down twice in the last year due to lack of the new owner not being on top of things with the state. Downside no benefits, business changed hands since the original owner passed away and has been unstable for almost a year. Took a pay cut in order to work close to home. Current boss is difficult, also they are looking to move out…

“Just make it through the week” – I don’t know if I can

I didn't think I would ever be posting here. Although I agree with all that goes on in this subreddit, for the past year or so I have entirely loved my job. Rises and falls as with most things but I genuinely have passion for what I do. Last week on Friday (the transfer going into action Sunday) they told me I was being transferred away from my home store which I had spent so long crafting and learning and making perfect (OCD wouldn't let me have it any other way.) And moved to the one store in the area that afrer covering their once I swore I would never return. It's just too high pressure of a store for someone with anxiety such as myself. Not enough staff, worst neighborhood, rude customers, and busy busy busy. I begged and pleaded for them to move me back. After threatening to…

Too scared to work out my notice once I submit it, what are the consequences of not giving any?

I live in Australia, and our rules on what employers do and don’t have to do when their employees resign are vague to me. I work for a small business, the pay is below average and the boss has a hell of a temper which has recently been revealed when my colleague gave notice recently. I genuinely felt unsafe when I heard the shouting my colleague received, and I’ve decided that’s it, I don’t want to be there any longer than I have to be. HR doesn’t exist in this company. I’m thinking of working out the rest of the year so I can still enjoy the end of year celebration with my friends/coworkers and use up some paid leave over the holidays. The beginning of the year is quiet usually so I think I’ll feel minimal guilt over leaving in January, and I’m required to give 2 weeks notice…

Gotta a better job

This is purely to vent. My current job has worked me to near death. Stocking shelves with heavy things, moving around carts that are overloaded, and dealing with customers that complain. My feet and back hurt. I’ve volunteered to “help out” to that suddenly being the norm of my availability. Which I can’t do. We’ve had several employees quit without notice and now the rest of us are dealing with the fall out. I can’t do it anymore. So while I’m waiting on my background checks and such, I’m out.

I am up for a promotion for 2 positions. But so far I am only “suited” for one in the eyes of others.

Hi all, I'm a 1st time poster in the group. So for context that was stated in the title. I just recently tested for a promotion for my company. I work for local government in my state (CA) but it was long and arduous before I even got there. I've been working in the IT field for about 12 years now (6 with my current job and 6 in the private sector.)I hold various IT certifications as well (CCNA, CompTIA A+, Net+, Server+, Linux+, MSCA windows 10 and Server) I came into the position after I've had enough with private companies and their downsizing or “restructuring” or just plain old being bought out by another company who have their own people they wanna bring in. This was back in 2017. First I want to say I'm absolutely grateful for the job I have but I feel like I've regressed so…

Now this might sound mild but, I only get paid for 2 hours to deliver all of this, I only get minimum wage and one of these things normally weigh 4-6 kilos, this is fully legal

HR on disrespectful colleagues

[UK] Is there any point in going to HR when your colleague is nagging you to death and mocking what you say? I have a problem with a superior who is trying to find problems in everything I do. They don't call me names or shout but are emotionally exhausting me by constantly being sarcastic, condescending and nitpicking everything I say or do. I went to team leader and manager but it seems to be a reoccurring problem every 1-2 weeks and the manager said to me that it's just “personality conflict” and that this person can be “brash” which to me seems very dismissive.

A major cause of Skill shortage Qualified Bakers ( Apprentice hazing and Victimisation )

Hi everybody I'm sure everyone here is unified and galvanized against harassment and bullying in the workplace. I know for a fact that have been many people who have asked the question why is there such a shortage of bakers , I do not have all the answers but one of the explanations I can give is the normalised and systematic victimization and hazing of apprentices in certain workplaces. when I started my baking apprenticeship in 2008 i went to go work at a bakers Delight. the head baker whose name is Mick just happens to be one of those really sick evil twisted individuals who preyed on the kindness, inexperience and naivety of teenagers and young adults wanting to enter the trade . Not just me but to all the apprentices who worked with him he would go out of his way to make their lives of living hell…
