Basically title. I needed to leave a few hours early one day and my boss asked me, an exempt employee, how/when I was going to “make up” my time. I thought, as an exempt employee, I didn't need to make up time. For what it's worth, I work between 9 and 10 hours a day regularly. Can my boss ask me about make up time?

I have nothing to do at my work
It's internships. I literally sit there and call people but I have no one to call anymore so I don't really do anything. They say they won't give me anything else to do for now. I feel like I'm being judged for not doing anything BUT WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO!? I hate it here.
Dance monkey
I can’t believe my misfortune. I always arrive at work on time. My commute to work is about 1-1.5 hours each way, but this time I had to fill my tank and I didn’t account for that. I arrived at loser island 10 minutes late, and I was made to dance in front of my coworkers. Thing is, I’m always on time or a little early. There have never been any repercussions for latecomers before. Fuck this circus.
I've been working at Union on Yale for a year and it's been a fcking nightmare. The manager, Mike is a racist, sexist, creepy piece of shit. All he does is sit in his office or drink at the bar. He only acts like he’s working when the owner is there. He is the most negative person Ive ever met, he only talks shit about all the employees. IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS TOO he’ll literally yell at the hosts or servers right in front of customers. When theres an issue with a customer he ALWAYS MAKES IT WORSE!!! he will literally just argue with them rather than try to make things better. im astounded that theres not more yelp reviews about him. So many of us have made complaints against him to the higher ups with him getting no penalties for any of his actions. But I know more yelp…
I don’t see much news about this but from all the changes Glassdoor has made over the last few years, it’s evident they are pro-corporation. But you can filter by demographics
Its literally a very complex, fully automated, robotic, upside-down train/crane system and its the most amazing thing thing you will ever see. Whizzing above your head at 25MPH. It doesnt need breaks and can operate 24/7. With advent of self-driving vehicles, Im sure the capitalists are salivating over it. Plan accordingly comrades.
“Nobody owes you anything”
I’ve seen this so many times and I just wanna say BS, STFU. this is the kind of answer and attitude that enables people, more specifically a-hole supervisors to get away with abusive behavior. A better and more accurate answer would be “Yes, everyone deserves to be treated respectfully and that person probably shouldn’t be in a leadership position but there is literally no protection from hostile work environments and management is allowed to get away with it as long as it isn’t sexual harassment against a female employee, racist or homophobic, everything is okay unless you are treating management the same way they treat you, then you will likely be terminated.” It seems like respectful work environments are more and more difficult to find these days and it’s turning into just basically slavery with just a few rules they have to follow when it comes to protected groups but…
People at work are so fake…
I know you aren't supposed to make “friends” at work, but we are supposed to spend maybe 8 hours a day surrounded by tired miserable strangers that all hate being there too. I absolutely hate, hate “office politics” and just everything about work in general. You let your guard down a bit maybe, and feel a connection to someone at work and enjoy their company and start to like them, only for them to throw you somehow under the bus or tell on you to your boss if the slightest problem ever comes up. And I am not bad at my job at all, am just a maid in a minimum wage job like all of them, it is not like we are fighting for promotions or something. There is no solidarity at all, and people are nice to you and such, but as soon as someone can't work as…
