Hi all So I recently quit my job and they gave me a sign on bonus at the start, they told me that they would take out the amount on my last check but they did not, now this sign on bonus has been subjected to tax deductions. When they ask for it back am I supposed to give them the full amount even though taxes have been paid on it?

Before at my position I was making $865.38 a week on salary. The catch was my average hours per week had to stay between 38 and 42 hours a week. So as long as it didn't hurt my average too bad I could miss a day for a funeral and not have to make up any extra days unless I'm behind on my tasks that I wouldn't finish in the rest of the week. Well my boss read a new law that certain positions cannot be salaried anymore and I don't fit the criteria so they averages my hourly rate at 40. But because of rounding now I only make $865.20 if I work 40 hours. I can work some OT but this is for a 40 a week argument. I've been 100% work-from-home for about 10 years. Pre-covid, a handful of us worked remotely but a majority of my co-workers still worked in the offices. My company is one of the latest to be 'strongly encouraging' people to start coming back in the office at least a few days a week. Apparently those who were 100% remote before covid are not exempt from this. I've been having a bit of back and forth with my boss about this today. They said I'm “only 20 mins from the office”. Ok, getting pedantic, Google Maps puts the time at 25 mins, but this is also with no traffic. Plus, it's also only TO the building, but there's also a moderate parking garage to navigate through and find a spot, so it's usually more like 30 mins. So, yesterday I asked for my first raise. I’ve been with the small business for 11 months and have grown quickly. In that time I have identified organizational issues, created training documents, and act as a manager without the title. So I asked for a dollar raise. I deserve it, and my boss agreed. During this conversation she admitted to me that she docks an hour or two from other coworker’s tip share when she feels they looked at their phone one two many times, or handed out a wrong order, whatever. (This is not news to me – she has passive aggressively bullied other coworkers into quitting by reducing their hours, giving them the silent treatment during shifts, etc.). Workplace has stated that due to a bank error half of the employees did not receive their paychecks, but that we should receive them on Monday. We could get them in advance but then they'd be deducted from our next paycheck. I'd be happy to accept it as an error if it weren't for the fact that every one of the higher ups got their paycheck and have no issues with it, which they also don't do any of the actual work
I work at a dealership and the “owner” who has inherited more money and businesses and property than you can count, now needs to make more money. His solution is to cut our bonuses. He has three cars taking up space in our warehouse that he never drives but he needs to take food out of our mouths. I hope he and his fat ass family die in a fire.
