Back to making base pay

I posted in this sub around February of this year that I had gotten an interview for a game store in my town and got some fantastic advice for the interview. Now, since beginning to work here, our hours have been cut about three times. (there's 6 employees total and an overall 230 hours for every two weeks). So even though my pay has gone from 9.50 to 10.25 I'm now making the same amount of money on each paycheck that I did when I first started the job. Over the summer, two of my coworkers quit so I was actually getting really good hours through the summer and making good money since they give hours based on seniority. Then around March they cut hours a bit, then again in September, then once more at the very start of October. Upper management say that we get hours now based on…

Was let go do I have recourse?

Hi all – I was let go from my role at a tech company back in August where I was hired to lead a large 40+ person international team, but I have this nagging feeling it was due to retaliation and need to check my sanity. Background: was hired a year and a half prior to lead said large, disperse team. The job description was crystal clear. When I arrived things were different. I “led” the team but they technically reported into regional GM’s. So all teams in each region, sales, customer success, etc all reported up to the GM’s (so GM’s had like 100+ direct reports – weird but ok) I navigated the situation and was given control and say over the direction of the team, goals, kpi’s, etc. But when I dug into compensation for team members I noticed that everyone was paid wildly different wages, even in…

Finding coverage after last day

My friend put in her 2 week notice at work (her position does not require more than 2 weeks of notice) and her manager asked her to find coverage for an on call shift AFTER her last day. I suggested she reply with something like, “my last day is _______ and I will not be responsible for finding coverage after that date.” Does anyone else have suggestions of how to respond to the request? She wants to keep boundaries but not have the manager make her life miserable the next two weeks

Wtf is the point of endless surveys if they’re not anonymous?

This isn’t some crazy story, I’m just irritated. My company always seems to have these satisfaction surveys every couple months that are mandatory. How happy we are with corporate, management, etc. They’re never anonymous and I just don’t see the point in surveys that aren’t as it’s not like people are going to respond honestly.

Can my supervisor (not employer) do this?

I work as a contractor (salaried/exempt) at a hospital in California where my coworker/peers are paid hourly/non-exempt, so the expectation is that I'm there for the exact same shifts as they are. I just switched to 4x10s with Monday RDO. For Monday holidays, my hospital's supervisor (not my employer) is saying when a holiday falls on a Monday, I have to work my regular 4×10 schedule. My contract company supervisor said they have no problem with this, but they won't pay me anything extra or give me holiday credit since I'm salaried. With the holiday (8 hours) and my work schedule Tu-Fri (40 hours) I am technically at 48 hours for the week. Can the hospital supervisor (not my employer) make me come in for those extra hours? I asked her if in this scenario I could work 8's during a week like this and she said no… even though…

A 10b+ company is trying to get me to commit multiple felonies a day…

Hello everyone, I recently got a job at a very large unnamed company. My first week went great during training. I watched all the HR videos, did some worksheets, shadowed fellow employees, you know.. typical first week on the job stuff. Now my second week comes around and I am doing more training, but this time I am doing notary training. I start asking my coworkers how hard it is and what the process they go through and the like as a curious person does. Multiple coworkers chime in and tell me not to worry about it, they just got their notary license last month. It wasn't a big deal and it should be easy. Wow great I thought, let's continue on. Severance or unemployment

Colorado: A company is doing layoffs. They are “offering” employees to sign a 6 week severence if they waive unemployment. Esentially they are wanting employees to say they “quit”. I assume that since it is an “at will” state it doesnt matter?
