PSIA/AASI is the governing body for ski/snowboard instruction (it's the Professional Ski Instructors of America/American Association of Snowboard Instructors) While it has a typical Apprentice/Journeyman/Master system (called level 1-3 certification for whatever relevant discipline of snow sports), Psia/aasi is not a union and does not represent the interests of snowsports instructors, it only really creates the standardized curriculum that makes ski lessons transferrable from resort to resort. We pay dues to PSIA/AASI every year. Whenever we test for a higher level certification we pay out the ass from our own pockets. There is talk throughout ski schools that PSIA/AASI members are entitled to some yearly raise mandated by the org, but this is not true. We can get discounted prices on sporting goods, but other than that, PSIA/AASI has no interest in actually changing the status quo and making snowsports instruction a viable career for someone who is not already…

How do oppressors never learn?
What, you think you're going to be safe because of laws? If you own a company with thousands of workers, that you underpay for their efforts, and they live in apartments that are too expensive, have barely the money to afford quality food, no savings, in debt… You think that's gonna last forever? People will adapt until something tips them over. And America is the closest to that being the case. Once the riots start, and not ones that worry about foreign affairs, race or sexuality, no, ones that see the REAL enemy hiding behind all this oppression, then you'll face what you've created. It doesn't need to be like this. We can all climb the hill together, but if you keep pulling up the ladder, it's only a matter of time before someone yells hard enough for the avalanche to take us all down together.
I finally figured it all out!
Recently I have noticed that I am not ambitious as I once was. I then realized the reason why? I made it. My entire life i wanted a loving family with a home. I have my lovely wife and daughter. We bought a home 3 years ago. I have everything i always wanted. Could i buy a bigger house or fancy cars, I could but that would just be me trying to impress strangers. My wife and I both work and together make about 100,000 a year. i have managed to save around 30,000 that i had to on a monthly basis. I finally figured it out that once we achieve our basic dreams there is this voice in our head telling us we need just a little more. Do we? I could drive a mercedes, i could afford one and my credit is 760, but my cheap little subcompact…
Oh how true this is!
My work is openly encouraging people to come in the office and I am cool with that. If that becomes mandated then I believe at least 40% would be this comic.
People love to be exploited
I was working at this food factory and only lasted a week because the place sucked. People get paid the bare minimun for their 8 hours of work so most of them stay to work extra hours. they work 12 hours 6 days a week just to make ends meet. Legally they can't force you to work more than 8 hours, but you if you don't stay you know how it goes with these piece of shit companies. These people basically stay most of their day at that goddamn factory, they have no life of their own. I was talking to a few coworkers trying to understand how can someone can be okay to work that kind of shift for years and I was surprised that most of them were more than happy to work extra hours because “they made more money”. There's no amount of money that can make…
NO AI! 100% HANDMADE!
I've seen three seperate instances on LinkedIn this week of high position managers in my industry completely crapping on the front line employees, calling them lazy, insulting their work ethics, insulting thier customer service, or blaming front line employees for whatever reasons their business has been having issues lately. To top it off, whenever I ask about their opinions, and what reasons they have to believe in such things, I only ever get “just look around” as an answer. 22 years doing this, and while my bosses are cool with me, I just have this feeling they talk down when I'm not around, and I'm not sure I'm cool with doing that for another 25 years.
What The Hell is a Reverse Market Crash?
My spouse just learned that their employer has been deducting $2.00 per direct deposit for each paycheck they’ve received. When asked what other methods of payment are available, the employer offered paper checks for a $1.50 fee. There are no options to receive the paycheck without incurring these administrative fees. Is this legal?
