This has been bothering me for awhile. I work at a fast food place, first job. My general manager at the time said I start at 11$ an hour. Okay great, it took me MONTHS to get my pay stubs. I got curious and I did the math when my ex-GM gave me my pay stubs. Turns out I make 10$ an hour, the new employees make about 11.50$ an hour. What do I do?

So we all have to work usually shit ass jobs sadly but what are some things you do to make the time more bearable? I'm stuck in that issue right now, I work at McDonald's and can't even talk to anyone because they don't speak English or at least not a ton of it to have time passing conversations. I work the grill/fryer so it's constant movement but even that isn't making the time go by any faster.
I got laid off yesterday, unexpectedly, and it actually is a huge relief because I will be able to collect unemployment. Fuck the shitty company I worked for because I hope they fail. But I am stoked that I will be getting some Federal Benefits (USA) for their decision. No matter how much you hate your gig, try to tough it out and make them fire you. Don’t actively sabotage the place but don’t go out of your way or anything anymore for them. Force their hand. Because if you quit, you’re screwed out of the unemployment money. *** This advice only works if you don’t have write ups or a history of disciplinary action. Anti-workers United.
this is backwards, no?
if you have to spend three paragraphs sugar coating it, maybe don’t send it. my GM asking employees for money to get our CEO and CFO christmas gifts.
Now we’re supposed to pay to work?
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/steve-jobs-intern-described-guy-202230560.html so we're barely able to pay our bills with the national average, people come out of higher education with crippling debt and now you're supposed to pay employers to work for them??? I mean this guy has 600Million in the bank already, but to dare tell grads to do the same is next level disconnected from reality.
Trying to get a full-time job or so here in Los Angeles and has been so hard. I have banquets experience but all of that is on-call unless you are a captain. I found a sales position for a company that rents venues to hold their event like conferences, weddings, etc. Had a phone interview with this guy who I assumed was the owner. Then he called me in and had me for an hour interviewing me. Then he said the employee who has the position I apply for and is leaving is gonna reach out to me. She did it was another long phone interview with rhe same kind of things I told the manager or owner guy. She said I will have to meet her in person and have another interview. That's total of 4 interviews for a position that's $18/hr + commission. I also don't know how…
Does anyone else struggle with this? I don’t have much satisfaction with my job, I work with a raging, mean / nasty narcissistic manager who’s made my work-life living hell (which doesn’t justify my tardiness but I dread going to my job every single morning – especially the days were I work with my boss). I’ve developed a bad habit of being late and simply stopped caring. I’m not late every day (**it’s typically on Saturdays when I don’t work with my boss) but when I am, I feel very guilty and bad about it. I’m scheduled to work every single Saturday 8am-5pm and I’m fucking sick of it. I’m venting at this point and am wondering if anyone else out there struggles with chronic tardiness? It’s exhausting. **I’ve been on the hunt for a new job for several months and have had a couple interviews with no new opportunities.…
There's this idea that to earn your money you must stress yourself so much to the point of becoming an alcoholic, a pack-a-day smoker, a stoner, or any other drug addict, just why can't we change the whole system to the point of making it less stressful?
