Been at my job for 2 years now. Very low salary in comparison to what tasks I was assigned when I started and what they have me do now. So obviously I’m not going to do even more things that aren’t in my job description like attending work dinners for the holidays. I was in a meeting and my manager pretty much threw shade on how it’s good to attend work events so that the higher ups can know you instead of working from home not participating in anything. The thought of attending work events unpaid is wild to me and I see no reason to participate after 2 years being here and seeing no support from anyone since I don’t match their ideal level of social butterfly. Let alone when the event will be with people I do not directly work with or ever see outside of such events.…

Anyone else experienced this? First interview I landed after sending out dozens of resumes.

Live antiwork.
So I am in line at my local CVS in Massachusetts. It's 3:35pm. There are 13 people ahead of me. They are so understaffed, the drive-thru is closed. In Q3, their Net Income was 2.26 billion. These morons who say “No one wants to work” are liars. If a company pays more, guess what? People will work. God forbid it cuts into their 2.26 Billion profit for the last 3 months.

BOLI is on it, now what?
Based in OR, I no longer work at this company. Without going into detail, I had filed a wage claim with BOLI last year after HR refused to work with me and my managers on a weird situation pertaining to wage increases when I would have been eligible per the documentation that was sent out. A year later BOLI finally got to my case and after providing additional evidence and context, they sent a notice to the company. Anybody have any experience working with BOLI on wage claims on what to expect next? What’s the likelihood that they’ll comply with the notice?
In the office auto reply emails.
I thought some of you WFH advocates would like this one. https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/in-the-office-auto-reply-emails-for-a-hybrid-work-schedule
Companies that identify as christian
But are all for capitalism and making as much money as possible. But bristle at saying happy holidays because “Christmas is about Jesus Christ and so we only say Merry Christmas.” Okay. First of all. Jesus was a Jew, so at the VERY least, saying happy holidays acknowledges that more than one religion exists that Jesus was Kosher with (haha). Second, I am not a fucking Christian. I try to mind my own business but for fucks sake. If I am being tolerant of your stupid phony morals, then have a modicum of tolerance for my neutral well-wishing. And get off your high horse.
