New boss is always testing me

So I got this new bitch ass boss 3 months ago…And within her 1st month she fired 2 people who were doing a good job but not enough to ‘take the company to the next level’…I work in marketing and she is goddamn out of her mind. I noticed she is always trying to make me feel stupid? It’s like she WANTS me to make mistakes…Here are some examples of the ‘tests’ she does: She asked me why I wasn’t asking people when to send the newsletter when a new product comes out. As if it was my job to ask that around and it was my responsibility. It is not. I told her it always used to be my boss who gave me the go, since the launching dates are always changing and my boss is supposed to know that info before me. She said ok. She asked me…

Why am I terrified to apply for a new job?

I genuinely don’t know what it is. If I don’t get it I still have the same job I have now, and while I don’t necessarily like it there, they pay me enough to deal with some extra bs here and there (53k/year or 28/hr). But man, for some reason when it comes to applying somewhere that I’m mostly qualified for and has a minimum starting salary of $15,000 more than I make now… I don’t get it but it’s exhausting. Edit: Appreciate the replies y’all. Made me adjust where my heads at. Much love!

Antiwork’s Thoughts on China

I'm just looking to see this subreddit's thoughts on China. I know the “anti work movement” or whatever you want to call it often is misunderstood as people who don't want to work instead of people who want to work/exist but for various reasons are unhappy with the current system (capitalism). Specifically what are your thoughts on the ongoing growing economy of China? Personally I'm planning on studying there very soon, looking to learn Mandarin and get a degree. One thing that radicalized me (Canadian) was how even low-level affordable college/universities were/are not training students to move into the workforce and lying about success rates, combined with the government redefining and vasty under-reporting unemployment.

Never come work in Italy

Greetings there ! I'm an Italian guy that got his 2nd degree one year ago about Food technology and science, with specialization on food innovation and treatment. Sadly after the degree I took 6 month of relax for myself and gather some info about find a job correctly and such and then finally back on November a big italian cheese company known well in Europe too ( so a very large group) , called me for a job that I applied myself on the packaging area, where the welcoming was fine at start , the boss after 2 months called me in his office for telling me about many replacements that the quality laboratory were happening at time since many were close to retire . Turns out that after months of wait until this month , I kept working there doing the lowest , unskilled and boring works possible only…

my coworker got fired for asking too many questions, is this common?

i just started a new job, along with another guy at the same time, we both have a lot of experience in this field but the way this field works is every job is different, it’s all relatively the same concept but different procedures & ways of doing things, the dude they hired along with me got fired on payday for “asking too many questions” & taking up too much of the higher up employees time by doing so, have you ever heard of this? i’m kind of afraid to ask questions going forward now, i didn’t notice him asking more questions than me, i figured we both asked reasonable amounts of questions from people who have been there long enough to give us some guidance on how the company runs, how things are done & what to/not to do, because in this field, doing things one way might not…

Evaluating whether I want to stay at new job

I started a clerical healthcare job about a month ago, and I’m not sure I want to stay there. Though we are told to take our breaks, my coworkers all don’t take breaks, skip lunch, and clock out but continue working at the end of their shifts. I don’t want to do that. I take my breaks, and when I clock out I leave work behind me. The office is clearly understaffed and I believe my coworkers are being exploited because most of them are in their 20s and choose to do this even though they are not asked to do it. The office will never be fully staffed if they keep willingly doing this, because why hire more people? There is a weird vibe I can’t put my finger on. People are curt and look miserable. They constantly bitch about how “other people” don’t know how to do their…
