No doubt that they omit the salary to see who “truly wants to be there for the job and not the money.” A lot of people want meaning and purpose from their job, when I'm just trying to get paid and have autonomy. I work to live, not live to work. My current situation yields me thatautonomy, but I see the writing on the wall and I'm not going to progress if I just stay here and wait for further raises. I've managed to accrue priceless experience and skills during the last 2 years here, but I'm starting to look for a better job now since you really just have to job hop now for more money. As opposed to the past, I'm carefully applying to jobs to which I would have corresponding qualifications. I'm trying to get at least a 25% pay increase. I'm dismissing a lot of jobs…

So just got told by our accountant, we’re gonna be closed July 4th & 5th. Except, they’re making us use our own PTO instead of them paying us for the 5th. Talk about cheap fucking assholes.

Is this what middle management usually does? She worked from home while monitoring employees to make sure they didn’t leave a second early. Yet she worked from home the entire time lol I called her out about it and she said “I’m too busy to have enough time to do that”. But then asked for a doctor’s note when I worked less during the work from home day because I was really sick. She counted that as another day off because she was monitoring my activity on the computer spyware thing. Do some middle managers not work at all? Or is this just their job? They’re the reason I refuse to work corporate positions. I can breathe more when I get to work from home and am treated like an adult.

Right-Sizing is our CEO's favourite new phrase. We've had about 15% redundancies but the Senior Management don't seem to like this term, so have cloaked it in bullshit LinkedIn talk. I'm not getting cut but I have friends who are and it's just an extra dagger in the chest for them to hear the CEO repeat this line with gusto, like he's still talking to the shareholders and not the humans who have to pay bills.

I guess I’m just venting because I think it is fucked up how employers can lie to their employees with no repercussions, but if we did something similar it would likely result in termination. When I initially interviewed for my position in 2022, I was told the role would be hybrid 6 months from hire. 6 months came and we were told it would be one year. A year came and went and we were told it would be July of this year. Well, July is next week and we were just told today that hybrid will not happen until November now. I work in social services and my job is so stressful it is affecting my mental and physical health. I have a bachelors degree and don’t even make $20 an hour. I was holding out in hopes of a hybrid role because in my area they are hard…

And they might piss test for weed, and I use weed to help relieve back pain from a car accident since keeping a doctor is difficult without insurance. Here’s hoping they don’t, or the fake piss works.
