Joined a company couple of days ago and boy….

I joined this company as a trainee to write content out for, It's been 2 days and on the 2nd day itself I've been called Lazy, Stupid, reckless. It's my 2nd day! Yes mistakes have been made, I accept that. I am being paid peanuts for a few months as I am a trainee, but I have to be available from 10-7 pm no questions asked. Is this toxic or am I overthinking?

What to tell Boss when my work output drops?

I’ve finally had it with working my tail off (& coming first on everything in the department) and not being compensated for my work. I’ve decided to just slow it down and not stress like I used to. Given that I am the top producer in my department, what do I tell my bosses when they ask why my work level has slowed? Edit: wow! Thanks for all the suggestions! I’m planning to put all of these in my back pocket and see which one sounds right depending in their mood that day

If we move the goalpost will they notice?

I have been with a company that does the same thing over and over and think we are stupid enough not to notice? Here is something that reoccurs frequently that I am no longer surprised by. Several employees have left due to this (look it’s hard finding another job with my current circumstances I’m stuck until I find something else too) every year or so a “review” if you can call it that happens. In this review it’s more or less “show us why you are good enough to stay” but here is the kicker- they’ll set you up with monthly meetings with your manager to make it look like they are invested in “your career growth” and have you focus on that area or “growth opportunity” then the review happens and they go “oh actually you need to work on this then we can review in a few months”…

Received an email stating “The hourly rate is $43.27 – $48.08 and the training hourly rate is $25”. I am thinking theyare just going to pay 25 an hour then. Has anyone ran into this before?

Friends PTO not going to be paid out due to company error

(Ohio) Just looking for advice on this issue. My friend is leaving his company and his final day is this coming Friday. He gave a 2 weeks notice and is going to be following through on it. He also took a day off Monday that he was told wouldn't be PTO because of his 2 weeks for a drug test for his new job. However, today when he went and talked to HR about how his PTO would be paid out, they told him there was a mistake and his time of Monday was entered as PTO and thus his other PTO would not be paid out once he left. They even said it was a company policy. We both looked through the handbook he was given when he started and there is nothing in there about that scenario. Company decided it’s not going to pay employees who don’t clock out.

Is this legal? I work at a security job, and was just informed this morning that I wouldn't be getting paid for Monday of last week because the system didn't register that I clocked out. My supervisor thinks it's total bullshit and thus has decided to put in his 2 week resignation notice. For more context, this particular security job has two ways to track employees' time on shift. We have an app called Belfry on our personal phones, with which, clock in and out for our shift to get paid. And we have a company phone that uses an app called protos security that we have to sign into and out of at the beginning and end of our shift This protos app also has an hourly check in to make sure we're not asleep. 90% of the time the protos app runs like shit, doesn't register inputs, and…
