Yes this is as dumb as it sounds I work at a law firm and we are 4 Days in/1 day from home. This happened after months of begging. When me and my co workers took the interview, we were all told that as long as certain expectations were met we could work from wherever, whenever. Of course this was a bold faced lie. After months of asking we finally got a day a week, which has been very helpful mentally. There has been several occasions when someone in the dpt has wanted to work from home so that they can avoid taking a PTO day. The boss will not let anyone take more than one day a week which is the oddest thing ever considering she does not even confirm our in office presence on a daily basis and even check on us. Anyone else find this extremely odd…

Last day at work
During my 2 years and half employment in the company, I had 5 different managers which I find the harmony however I could to get the job done with each one of them, but the last one she's russian, very direct and demanding, I submitted my resignation 2 weeks ago, and today, which is my last day. She is assigning me to several tasks That we're not belong to my workflow or portfolio in asking me to finish them before I leave and I did not take it anymore. I didn't want to make a bitterness. An unpleasant experience on the last day of my job, but she made it impossible. And I told her all the flaws that she has and how horrible she is & immediately hang up on her. I have to admit that felt great!!! I'm leaving this job for a better contract starting next week…
Checkers GM abusing power?
I understand listening to your boss and doing what's told but are they allowed to make you wash a ladder outside in the rain?Told I was fired for trying to move it in the shade and not following directions. I really feel like I've been played out of a job because someone wanted a ego boost. More details it's been days of being told either no one likes you here like it's highschool or you're not gonna be here for long. Do I just move on an quit because of a “bully”? Is that even legal?
Now that I've hit six months, I've MOSTLY figured things out on my own. And now, I am being asked to make a job aid, on top of all my other duties. I'm expected to just…find time to do it. To help cross train. Other employees. And the manager, because he started a little over a month ago and also doesn't know what he is doing. Oh, and the new hires these training guides will undoubtedly help, have been signed on at a higher rate then me. Guess I should have waited a few months to apply. Working is pain.
I work for a regional health network. They have begun to see an exodus of housekeeping staff over the last year as competitors offering higher pay have begun to expand into our territory. Rather than offer better compensation to attract more housekeeping staff they've begun asking everyone else in the network to pick up housekeeping shifts. They won't even pay your base pay, instead you get knocked down to the housekeeping rate for any shift you pick up.
I lost my job last December due to bad mental health issues that ended in a hospitalization. I was still in the probation period at my last job and even though I had discharge papers, they said I'd called out too many times in the first 120 days. Unemployment said it was my fault so I got no benefits, but at least I was able to go back on state health insurance and get my meds sorted. Once I had my head on straight I started looking for jobs. At first I was applying in my field, but most people want a certain certification. I need 300 work hours for this certification, which must be earned with “professional” experience (so volunteering/free service does not count). But nobody seems willing to give me the hours. Oh well. I start applying for super bottom-barrel jobs because I just needed something. I have…
Crying in the office bathroom
Just had a conversation with my supervisor and she just dumped on me everything that I did wrong and how it's unacceptable. like a list of things. One which I take responsibility for but the others were things that arent really policy rule(there are exceptions) which I fell under, but she wanted to throw in as much as ahe could. When I tried to defend myself she interrupted and made faces as if assuming I was lying so I stayed quiet and when she was done I ran to the bathroom. Ive been here for an hour and now shes in the restroom looking for me. I asked to be left alone but she's saying I cant hang out in the restroom I asked her to leave me alone and then she left
I posted a couple of videos showcasing my awful former employer's ( Rosemont Market, Portland Maine) nastiness and some of the people in the comments, who seem to be a little too heavily invested in this, are trying to say I'm going to be sued and I will never be able to get a job again. I did report them to the health inspector, if anyone is wondering. Also, I drove by the place Monday and Tuesday, and I could see people in the windows actively cleaning. So, that's a good thing.
Walkout song
It's the kind of tune you play as you walk out after quitting. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=5gBM5VdvWmI&si=OUlWbLivxppl_07p
When you have an idea to increase efficiency and you bring it up to your manager, how does your employer tell you to F off? I always get “we’ll talk about it.” Shit pisses me off to no end
