When you have an idea to increase efficiency and you bring it up to your manager, how does your employer tell you to F off? I always get “we’ll talk about it.” Shit pisses me off to no end

Are HRs allowed to do this?
I applied for a job as a Front Office supervisor and I made it to the final interview. Today I received a call from the HR saying the other candidate was more qualified than me but Im a better option for them budget-wise. He told me that he'd hire me if I could go lower on my expected salary and he said he wants to give me another chance because he enjoyed talking with me during the interview. I did respond nicely and told him I can't go any lower because of my living costs and transportations and thank u for giving me an offer but I cant. He responded by saying call him back if I changed my mind and he'll hold the position for until next week Monday for me. I didnt say anything to him but I feel slightly offended. I would've considered taking the job if…
I work in an extremely specific field, at a chemical factory. We handle 95% of the production of this chemical for the country. My previous job shut down the building I had worked in for 15 years. The company I work for now bougjt the process, and begged me to come work for them, as I was one of two people who knew how to do it. I accepted the job, and have regretted it evey day since. The place is ridiculously dangerous. I am absolutely confident that if osha showed up here, the place would be shut down. We have ungaurded machine parts so you can lose fingers, catwalks with no railing, trip hazards over the entire plant, open deep pits in the floor to fall into, incorrectly labled totes of dangerous and deadly chemicals, and opperations that require you to climb on top of things that are not…
What TF is going on?
My husband got a job as a data analyst for a giant company last August and it is his second job in this field. This May, without any communication, they moved him to a new team and new role. In this new position, he is to create reports for the C-Suite and give updates across all these projects. My husband knew he was in over his head, but kept communications open, kept asking questions etc… At a meeting this morning his manager said that the questions my husband was asking were not “ones he'd expect from someone in this position” and that he was the “weak link” on the team. His manager said that he had contacted Employee Relations, but stressed that this was not HR. We are both really confused, isn't Employee Relations part of HR? Are they getting ready to fire him? Move him again? We're both in…
Work after emergency surgery
I just had emergency surgery to remove a bursted appendix. I work at a very hot heavily demanding factory. Guess how many days my doctor gave me off for work? One. Yep, you read that right. One day. I’m currently taking oxytocin and my blood count is sitting at 31.1 but I’m supposed to go back to work in less than 12 hours. Fuck this system.
This is ridiculous. They just cut everyone's hours and they expect us to finish everything within 6 hours. It's only the two of us. My coworker doesn't care because she doesn't make any tips and comes late and leaves early. Tasks are being left unfinished and managers throw the responsibility on me. I had one of them bugging me after telling me to do additional tasks when I had to clock out because every lunch penalty is gonna be a write up apparently. I told him I don't have time and he could put ice in the water instead of trying to tell me things. He said I am disrespectful and brought up that a guest complained about me being rude for not giving them ketchup immediately lol. I told him he saw my coworker before she left and could have told her to stay and help since she had…
This is my first reddit post. I have changed names and titles to anonymize the story. I spent five years working for a small to medium-sized tech company with a few thousand employees. My department consisted of about 25 people, and my role focused primarily on consulting projects for other companies, including tech audit testing, automation development, and process documentation. The first three years were typical of consulting—filled with ups and downs—but by the end of the third year, I was generally content. I had established myself as a key contributor, particularly in product development and process automation. At the time, I reported to two key leaders: Tom, the head of our group, and Mike, the VP overseeing the advisory side of the department. Mike was the best leader/boss I’ve ever had. He consistently encouraged my career growth, praised my work to higher-ups, and even advised me to ask for…
What are your opinions on the Chinese bai lan movement?
With the technology making it easier for people to connect, why isn't there a way to organize or help others organize?
Edit: Been getting some hate so maybe some added context might help. Our official PTO policy is unlimited, however like any other PTO, it has to be approved by your boss. Well my boss decided I had taken enough PTO per his own personal philosophy that wasn’t ever shared, and denied my family vacation. So, that at that point, it’s no longer unlimited in practice.
