I am not sure why one person takes time off, and mine gets denied due to “operational needs”, what is my operational need over that person? Also, why am I contantly assigned to B task, when I was hired for A, is piling up? But due to operational needs, B is what I need to be doing?

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sues Biden Administration over nursing home staffing rule https://www.kxan.com/investigations/texas-attorney-general-ken-paxton-sues-biden-administration-over-nursing-home-staffing-rule/
Hi all. I used to work at a nursing home as a housekeeper. It paid pretty well for my standards but college is coming up so I asked about changing hours. My original job was full time 40 hours a week, 5 days a week. The job they offered me was substantially easier and was 30 hours a week (which is more or less what I was aiming for with plans on attending school). A couple key notes I should clarify is that our department has a really high turnover. We just dont get many applicants and the ones we get are usually pretty terrible. I asked about changing hours in September last year, and it took until April this year for them to finally get me a replacement so I can get to my new job. Actually, we had multiple people hired, but none of them lasted til the…
I save my work hours from it and then I erase the rest. Lately I have taken to indefinitely muting notifications as I find work group chats rather intrusive. I know the easier option is just to not have it, but it's just easier to get my work schedule rather than taking a picture in the office. It was originally used for good intentions, now it is just used as a gaslighting/complaining tool by the management, so it's no wonder half the staff turn off notifications or simply never respond during time off.
Our department is notorious for being short staffed. We keep going +1 -2 staff and are now only 2 active people + lead. I am so sick of our lead trying to pencil in shifts (which is not allowed). I am sick of being told that work isn't getting done (due to being short staffed) well hire some damn help. I recently had to file a union grievance for our lead trying to take away approved pto on vacations I had scheduled on the books for the past 6 months. I told our leader I am only sticking to esced schedule. If it is not approved shift on esced I will not work it. If you want us to work full time hours then schedule us full time hours. I am not getting in trouble because you want us to go against esced and work more than we're allowanced. We…
I started working for a global company but in the USA. The job description says there are full time benefits, but after signing on I realized that I’ll be paying over $660 a month for health insurance (only) just for myself?? I find it difficult to believe that they cannot get a better rate than that. Could they actually be profiting off of this? EDIT: There was not tiered options either. It was this or decline coverage.
Like changing their feedback from saying you’re a great employee to saying you’re a lazy employee, etc
My boss is a saviour of the poor.
CEO of care home and mental health hospitals company, who is on £2.5mil a year, along with a few cronies, were recently bigging themselves up in the works newsletter because they went on a scenic walk to raise £5k for a charity that was specifically setup to help their employees when they are struggling to feed themselves. They did this on a weekday too so got paid many multiples more than £5k just for doing it!
I got some shady coworkers
Supervisor pulled me in to say I've been on my phone too much lately. Well yeah. We don't have any work right now. Give me something to work on and I'll happily stay off my phone. Well my Supervisor wants to write me up and send it to hr. Normally that wouldn't be a issue but I had a final warning back in 23 over some bs that I tried to defend myself with pics but they didn't wanna hear it. So if my Supervisor sends my write up to hr there is a good chance I'm terminated. Man this is some bs. If said coworker had issues why didn't he just come to me and say hey, get off your phone. I would've happily said to g Him give me work and I will. But no he wants to cry to my Supervisor who sadly is seriously by the…
I was just given a midyear raise. I was sent a new contract indicating the new annual salary and included in the contract was an additional 5k bonus. previously I've been told that my position is not eligible for a bonus so I reached out to my boss to confirm it was correct. he said it was… all other parties had already signed the contract. I signed last and returned it. now I'm being told that the bonus was a typo, and my boss is working with hr to see what can be done. he says he's on my side… what should I be doing in this situation? can I fight them taking it back since the contract was already signed? if it's relevant I'm in the USA
