I own a completely bog-standard 1972 split level, in the south-central part of British Columbia. The city I live in has some of the highest housing costs in Canada. Only a few rare cities across the entire country have higher housing costs. I have been putting together a small building permit to replace windows. In doing so, I put in a request for any and all info that the city has on my property, to see the data that the city has. Hello All, I wanted to get some advice on what to say or do to get stress/disability leave. I did injure my back recently, and for the most part it has healed, but I haven't seen a doctor. As for stress leave, I am having some mental health issues both unrelated and related to work. I'm currently seeing a doctor, and am going to request for a note. But I am not sure how to navigate my doctor, and then navigate HR at my workplace (PS I work for a city government if that helps). Lastly, I want to take some vacation before my leave. I am not sure though if that is a good idea. As I will be using my vacation time most likely to find both a physical therapist, and a therapist as well as go on a trip ( I haven't travelled in 6 years). Work…

By good I mean a place I haven’t been disrespected and seen as a slave. A place without toxic people. A place that values my labor at least a little bit. A place where I’m not just meat for a grinder. All jobs suck dick, yes, even the “good” ones you go to skewl for. My uncle is a head engineer in his company and he’s literally never home. Work work work is all this damn life seems to be even for those who did everything the boomers told em to.

I'm past due for my appraisal and every time I bring this up with him, he gives some excuse that he'll discuss it with certain person in budgeting/finance team and let me know. It's been over 8 months now. I don't want to stop working or be unproductive or unprofessional but I really need his attention to this matter. Any suggestions on what I should be doing?

Should I report my warehouse for extreme hot conditions & foul smells coming from rotting dead animals that sneak & in the warehouse and live inside?? I don’t think it’s healthy to smell dead flesh hanging above your head everyday. Most of the fans don’t work & there are piles of extreme dust everywhere.

By now it should come as no surprise that corporate CEOs and the billionaire class are the enemy. They are villains, evil incarnate, and the biggest threat to both the environment and 99.9% of the population. But they are ensconced, entrenched and removed from physical view. They are immune to the effects that they are having on the world and from the rest of the society on which they prey. I think we can all pretty much agree on this, right? So what to do? Do they give you two weeks notice when they want to fire you? Do they give you two weeks before reducing your hours? Do they give you two weeks before making other people jobs, that they won’t do; yours? These jobs don’t care about us and unless you are part of a family business or were referred by a friend that you work with, it’s okay to consider them but you do not have to! Idc how much like a toxic family they are to you we all need to stop putting in two weeks notice. Just never come back n block their number lol. Us workers need to take our power back even though I hate working until I stop I will always root for doing what’s best for us and our futures.

I've been at my company for 5 years. I'm happy with my pay, have stellar yearly reviews. I recently reached to HR explaining that I'm doing some future and financial planning, and asked for the pay scale for my current position. They said no. They've denied others raises in the past for being at the top of the pay scale but are refusing to tell me what the scale is. Why not tell me if there isn't something to hide? I'll be looking for a new job asap, something about this feels really fishy.

So my parents found out I had an interview with WinCo because my mom saw me leave the house in nice clothes but they don't know I left Safeway (without another lined up) and they were not happy about it because they wanted me to stay at Safeway because apparently “iTS A GoOd JOb” and they don't know how bad the management is there because I didn't bother telling them as they would force the blame on me anyways like they did before when I was being treated by the Foodmaxx management so badly as I was being kept at minimum wage there while other people that were lazy and skipping work got promoted over me and even literally got verbally attacked by a manager for not sprinting when I had a fucking back injury and yet I still got the blame and told it was purely my fault despite…
