the store i work at met a sales goal the other day (for a 3 day sale) that surpassed $30,000, we made about $120,000 after being busy as hell and working our asses off for weeks. my boss, who did literally nothing at all, gets a paid vacation up to $5k to basically wherever he wants to go in the country and me and my coworkers get $20 in store credit as an incentive for meeting our goal. i’m just so tired.

I have autism, and I lost my seasonal job at Spirit Halloween because the noise from the animatronics is incredibly overstimulating. Posted this in the Spirit Halloween subreddit and was told to just tune it out (I literally can't do that, I have a disability) and that the animatronics are so customers can enjoy them. I really don't give a fuck about customers enjoying them for like 15 minutes when the employees, even if they can tolerate it, are suffering all day for no reason. I was just fine during set-up days, but I ended up quitting day one because I could not cope with the insane noise. Why are the animatronics so loud, and why can't we turn them off? You know that feeling, on a sundat 23 00h or right now 06.30. I couldnt fall asleep and now my entire body is resisiting me because i need to leave for work at 7.15 and ill be back at 18.30

I’m incensed about this, and I need to rant.. My wife very recently became a teacher; there are a lot of really nice things about the school already, and the employees are generally happy working there, but I’m filing myself somewhat livid about the PTO policy- namely that PTO is accrued, with no starting balance. Now, I know this isn’t exactly rare, but there are two things about this I find to be obnoxious an unconscionable: first is the fact that they don’t do PTO rollover, tied with the fact that school years clearly start and end with a clear date, meaning that you are just guaranteed to spend the first few months of school with little to no ability to take off, followed by the second issue, which is that this directly pressures and incentivizes teachers just to go to school sick. which is even further exacerbated by the…

It makes no sense to me that they're not. I've had so many jobs where I've had to stay on site, and be available to jump in during my break anyway. Like, if it were up to me, I wouldn't be eating a refrigerated lunch in a dingy backroom. Not to mention the jobs where lunchbreaks are scheduled to a certain time and you end up having to work through a part of your break because this or that pops up, making your lunch break shorter than legally permissable.

I'm about to vent so if you don't like that, then skip this post… I usually work between 5-6 days a week. We have very little staff who can work during school hours, and I'm one of them. My coworker always waits until the very last minute to ask me to cover their shift for the next day which drives me mentally insane. She will tell me she has school or something, but the schedules have been out for weeks. I usually cover cause I feel guilt tripped into doing it as there is no one else… Today, I am in a bad mood but I don't let them know that, of course. I suffer from depression and constantly struggle with suicidal thoughts.
