I showed up to work every single day on time during my probation period never been late or missed a day only for them to fire me when I only had 2 days until I been an official employee they were interviewing my replacement the day I got fired too

Lately it’s been shitty, so I’m going to skate for the next 4 and do just enough to keep from getting fired so I can burn up my sick days and vacation day (they don’t pay-out at retirement and would be lost) I’m gonna max out my pension and 401k (the only consistently generous part) and since I won’t have to ever work again or need a reference I’m going to tell them “fuck all ya” on the way out the door.

Small team, big company. My super won’t reappoint my annual contract to no fault of my own. I quietly removed my personal possessions and sent a follow up email confirming that conversation. Any pro tips?

I didn’t even realize till halfway through that OP was actually the red text. This is absolutely unhinged telling someone else they shouldn’t leave at the end of their shift regardless of how busy it is. Also saying their plans aren’t important in the grand scheme of things…like Domino’s profits are?!?! I get feeling flustered from being short staffed when it’s busy, but to take it out on another employee (even the manager) is just completely misplaced. EDIT: after posting I checked OP’s page to see they also posted an update. Unlike what they originally said they didn’t actually quit, rather they contacted the owner and got the GM fired…for leaving when they were scheduled to leave. I recently started my own business working as a consultant and it has done quite well. More recently 2 months ago I paid off the last of my debt and now can live quite comfortably. Other than eventually buying a car that is not 20 years old (like my car). Saving for retirement and maybe buying a place to live I seem to have no use for this excess in wealth. I have already started giving some of what I have that is extra to homeless people in my neighborhood and family members who need help. I feel soooooo rich from not being in debt. Even though I probably have what many would consider very little money. What this newfound removal from struggling in poverty has taught me is the wealthy are completely morally bankrupt in their greed and they are missing out on so much joy from sharing it…

Writing this on behalf of my friend because I'm so pissed off. I'm in Europe, she's in the US, we've known each other 6 years now, and met each other irl for the first time last year. We've decided to make meeting up a yearly thing, she went to visit me first, this year it's my turn to visit her. We've been planning this trip since she left last year, we've made plans, picked a specific date, rented our bnb as soon as possible, I got all the necessary papers to travel and bought the plane tickets, got my own vacation days approved… All the while my friend has already handed in her request for two weeks time off, so she can spend time with me, but obviously their software is broken, so she has to ask to permission in person. She asks her manager who says it's no issue,…

So I was supposed to start working at dominos today at 4:30 as a delivery driver in a Texas location, to clarify me and my wife are completely broke so I had to doordash for gas money before I went in, I wasn’t on the schedule or gotten my uniform yet, I get there at 4:31 walk in at 4:32 and a manager I hadn’t spoken to or seen the past week and half I’ve been in the application process came around the corner at 4:33 asking why I was late, I explained my situation to her and she told me “We’re trying to make being punctual extremely important here so I don’t think we’re going to continue this” I just sort of laughed and walked out after telling her okay. Never in my life half I been treated like a child late for school by someone I’ve never met…
