I work 4 days a week doing production work and my work wants us to come in a 5th day this week to clean totes. How are we going to get production pay? I only get 11 an hour without production. I have worked here over 10 years and always worked 4 days and I signed up to agre to a 4 day work week. This is crap man. I am a warehouseman/picker, not a janitor. I am thinking about calling in sick.

Curtain for a door. Upstairs with no ac after working 12 hours in heat ( +30 ) and shared bathroom with this random lady. He is down guys and I’m pretty sure it’s cause he treats his employees bad. Only been working here 2 weeks and they ran out of work for me in my town and now asking me to travel and set me up here. Working 12 hours in heat too come home to a sauna is driving me mental. Is there any laws saying this is illegal? Don’t want too loose my job by demanding shit 2 weeks in. but also don’t want continue on. Company makes more than enough too pay for my hotel room for the weeks I’m here. This is in Canada
To add some context to this – I went on a vacation in June and my manager took out time from BOTH my Vacation Days and Option Week. There were ten days taken out of my time banks instead of five. I talked to my BA and manager about this and they told me to talk to them when I want to take an Option Day two weeks in advance and they would mark me as scheduled off. Yesterday, I let them know more than two weeks in advance that I want to use my Option Days that were mistakenly taken out of my Time Bank. The manager said that I will have to wait until September to use the Paid Time Off that I earned. It should not be this difficult to use Option Days that I earned and that were mistakingly taken out of my benefits. I have…

I work in a physical production facility so employees have to be on site. We operate on the basis of large contracts, and several months ago we were scrambling for new contracts because one of the existing ones didn’t send what they promised us and cut our hours to prevent layoffs. In May we gladly worked a lot of overtime one weekend a few months ago to secure a new contract, and when we secured it management was promising monthly work and looking at 4-10’s split front and back half of the week and two shifts to cover work that would be coming in over the weekend, and a few more hires to cover the gaps. They even had us fill out forms with what schedules we would prefer that included one weekend day. Now the work is coming in seriously, right before the weekends, with the client wanting large…
it was my second day today, they had me take customer returned Ice cream containers from their little mini grocery area that they had just in the freezer, and dump it into the scooping squares to be served directly so, opinions? and what should I actually do, if I also lose this job I literally will be out of job opportunities so I am kinda reliant on it right now.
Just another not being able to work from home rant. I’ve got a pretty good gig, so I’ll acknowledge that privilege right up front, I have a desk job and my team is professional and I’m happy to work with them. But my manager is one of those micro-managers that pretends she doesn’t. She means well and did take me on to teach me this position, but her version of this is to want me always in the office so she can turn around (in our open office) and talk to me whenever she feels like. I really liked her and we got along well, but I just had a meeting with her that shattered all the illusions she had created that she actually cared about me. I know I know, I should’ve never fallen into the trap that I was “one of the lucky ones” with a boss I…
I haven't seen much about what happened since Brittany posted her viral layoff video….so I made a video myself! In short, it's not good, but see for yourself: https://youtu.be/TJyWSiKXsBI
I work on a pig farm power washing, according to HR when I signed on my hours were 5am to 1:30pm however my manager told me officially it’s just 8 hours from whenever I clock in, but since I’ve been here we haven’t worked past 12:30. Anyway Today I was power washing one room and my manager comes In and told me he’s going to another farm and to keep going until he comes back. I told him “hope there’s not a big issue and it doesn’t take a while” and chuckles slightly. He goes “why?” And I, once again, said “we just don’t wanna be here all day” and chuckled again. He then immediately gets an attitude and says “well you work when I say you work and your hours are when I say.” I then told him that HR told me I work 8 hours past clock in…
