I kinda hate my job. I put in my two weeks yesterday but I’m now struggling to get through the rest of the work day today and have to keep going for more days I’m a 25f and my like 70+m boss is kinda creepy towards me and my coworkers are nice but I just have terrible anxiety at the job because I’m kinda just there and don’t know what to do half the time. I also have another job so like I don’t really need them as a reference. How much would it suck if I just stopped showing up?

So my boyfriend works at a car wash, one day. He is supposed to get off at 5 PM. His manager ask him can you stay till six? He says no she says OK. then when he gets to my house 30 minutes after his shift, his managers calling him saying why did you leave and he’s confused because he agreed to her saying that he’s gonna leave at five not six. and it’s a few days later his next shift they pull them in the office and the manager above that manager writes him up for not listening to a manager and leaving the site early?? he tries to explain in the most calm way saying that the manager had a miscommunication with him and the manager, he’s sitting in the office and the manger laughed in his face and says so you’re calling her a liar? And my…

This may sound foolish, but when applying for a job, we should really get a look at our hiring managers (recruiters) resume. Yes, there is LinkedIn, but I want to see the resume they got hired with. Like what made them stand out or was it because they knew someone. If they moved up in the company, that's a different story. I want to see if their experience relates to the position they have. I want to see if they got hired because of their “experience” or if they got it by luck or knowing someone. Like I want to know if this a** hat has the experience to actually reject me. Lmao I'm posting this as mostly sarcasm but it does make me wonder.

Got a new job that starts next week for a 40% hourly increase. Today is my last day!

I had to leave suddenly last week to say goodbye to my elderly father, who is “actively dying.” I sent this email to my bosses. It is a very small dental office. Hi, My father, who, as you know, has been sick for a while. He's now in hospice and we are headed out of town tomorrow to be with him before he passes. I'll work while I'm there except for our travel day. I apologize for this late notice, but this came on suddenly. I can forward the phones to Jill. This was the response I got from one of them: Jill isn't available today. I pretty much bust my ass for this company, working after hours for no pay and I'm not salaried. I take short lunches and almost never take even a day off. That ends now.

I’m so burnt out and depressed, the source of which is the fact that I have absolutely nothing to look forward to in life. Ever. All I do is go through the same motions every single day. Wake up, commute in traffic I hate to a job I hate, then come home too mentally fried to even think of a way out. Over and over again. Totally unmotivated, uninspired, unfulfilled. Yet entirely reliant on that paycheck to barely scrape by. I wish I could take a sabbatical or something. Just a few months or a year off work so I can regroup, recollect myself and figure out a better way to live. I’m finding myself wishing my life away so I could just retire immediately. There seems to be no hope until I am able to.

Currently I work a rotating shift of 2 on, 2 off, 6 on, 4 off, repeat. Yesterday I received notice that due to some employees becoming “complacent” they are changing everyone’s shift to 10 on, 4 off. It also aligns to where there is no overtime in the pay period. They said it is non-negotiable and if anyone has problems then they wish them the best on their future endeavors. Funny thing is, 2 people have quit within the last week, so they are short staffed already. It seems like they are getting too big for their britches and digging a hole from which they won’t recover. It was also said that any negative remarks regarding the schedule change will result in a reprimand.
