“You need to be available”
That was one thing my boss said I need to improve on. I don't understand it because when we're driving we're not allowed to be on our phones, and when I'm awake my phone accepts their calls & messages. So I asked a trainer & his take was that they want me to answer texts & emails within some unstated time period of them being sent, as well as answering calls coming to me… when I'm off work. I do answer calls when I'm awake, and I do occasionally check texts / emails throughout the day, but I told the trainer that if they want me to be on call we can negotiate the terms. Haven't had a response. . ETA: Today is Sunday the 25th. I had an issue with dispatch giving me the wrong pickup address AND yelling at me for going to the pickup address on the…
Quick shout out to the admins
I see you locking posts that are in a poster's best interest to be gone, and I appreciate what you're doing.
Beware of jobs that have telephone interviews and the boss is quick to hire you on the spot. I got one of those and the training was terrible. And the schedule isn’t want I signed up. I mean, I am happy to work overnights where I sleep through the shift and only wake up when it’s time to clock in and out of work. The position is a remote work from home slot. But it’s not right to hire someone under false pretenses. I quit.
Already giving up
This is a rant cause i cried not so minutes ago and my heart is pounding with anxiety. So, there's this kinda famous shop in my city that sells stationery and cute stuff that I've always wanted to work in. I live in the capital, so it's rare for a workplace to be close to you especially since I live in the corner of the city. Also, we're in a bit of trouble financially and I don't want my family to pay for university bills all the time. It really is a hard thing for a girl to find job in my country. I sent them a resume a while ago, and they called me for a job interview (they are very strict, but they keep it cute). They said I have to come for a test for a week so they can teach me what exactly I should do.…
I think working a job we don't like actually effects us on a deeper level than we realise. It's demoralising and it stunts our growth as people. It's easy to get caught up doing something that's 'not me' and then you blink and you have wasted your life More here: https://newsletter.pathlesspath.com/p/living-in-tension-guest-post
Final final update I left my job
Mid December I just couldn't take it and left my job. Crushing it on new job. Project management in construction for a trade. Bringing in jobs with high profit. New company is very happy with me. Old company going out of business, I knew they would as owner was older and I was keeping it together. 13 years I gave to that company conservatively guessing I added 5 million to that guys wealth. He always cried poor. Now that things fell apart learning some things about him, from field tradesmen that knew him for 25 plus years. He is worth 6 times what I thought he was worth, he owns 70 rental properties in an upscale suburb of Chicago, i was thinking 10. Has a boat in Florida so large that he can't drive and has to hire a crew. Shouldn't bother me but it does. I have always worked…
Hey everyone I worked for family for about 3 years and while I was involved with them, without naming company names. I would have these little tasks to do, and as long as I did said tasks outside company (whom the tasks were being done for, setting up different displays in stores/events) would credit my aunt and uncles account for 1k. They would then disperse the 1k to me. I have photo evidence of this 1k being dispersed as a credit to one of the business accounts. It literally says 1000k for my name dispensed to x account. I quit a week or so before this happened. I know there are some squirly rules about anything that is not regular hourly/salary pay. But in my eyes I did said work, now they are basically stealing 1k from me. Anyone with any advice ????
Because Google doesn’t seem to have any answers of what kind of work should be performed for that amount of pay. If anyone can add in additional amounts of pay per hour on a scale that would even be more helpful.
