Quitting my job– need advice#
Ok, so my work unionized a few months ago (we haven't started bargaining yet so no contract is in place), and before that up to now, management/HR has been a massive pain. Instituting strict dress code changes. Writing people up for anything and everything (including blatantly illegal shit). Ignoring requests for policy or documentation. Giving shit jobs to people they don't like. And, lying about it when asked, saying it's the union. Of course, we've been in touch with the union, who denied it, and filed grievances but it's been very slow going. And, my employer, despite being a non-profit, hired a VERY expensive union busting lawyer who is doing everything in their power to oppose us. In the meantime, people are down. I've been talking to people who've been there for years, and morale is at an all time low. Pretty much everyone in my department is looking for…
What the fuck is this system?
I'm at work with the flu, crapping my guts out because I get paid 11/hr and can't afford to see a doctor for a note. I can't afford to miss a day and pay for Healthcare out of pocket as well. I'm maybe a week or 2 of not having a job from losing everything, so here I am making fast food and contaminating everything just by being here.
How Does This Work
I'm new here, but I'm all up for anti-work if this is even remotely possible. That's why I wanna how this will work on a long term basis? Thanks, guys!

Boss yelled at me today
First post, just kinda been thinking about it all day, guess I'm looking for people's take on this. Earlier this year we got a new general manager at the store I work at. Guy is mid-30s, super chill, easily the nicest guy I've had in the nine years I've spent working there. I have a history of calling out a lot due to medical problems, often enough that I had to sign some form (don't remember the official title of the form). I won't lie, I did have a period a few months back where I was just calling out because I was dreading going to work (more than usual I guess, lol), but I've bounced back. Today though…I really wasn't feeling it. So I called out. Who answers the phone but the general manager. “Generic Company at United States!” he says way too cheerfully for 5:30 in the morning.…
I recently was reached out to by a recruiter for a hybrid role at Amazon Fresh. I went over my resume with the recruiter in detail. He knew the programs I had experience with which aren’t what they use at Amazon, similar but different and he set me up for 2 interviews. The first one I could feel I didn’t connect well with, the second felt like a better fit. After the recruiter went radio silent for 3 days after being in contact with me for several days in a row, I could tell I did not get this role. I followed up with the recruiter to have him say to me, “ they really wanted someone who had experience with their programs.” Having been sick of getting bullshit generic rejection responses, I replied letting him know that if that were the case, they wouldn’t have interviewed me in the…
