Hey, y’all, I have recently accepted a new role at a new company. I start in exactly a month. I plan on giving my two weeks notice in about a week at my current employer.
I’m posting here to gauge whether or not my reasons to quit are valid? I don’t necessarily care what my current employer says or thinks as I have lost all respect for them after they yanked 401k match 6mo into my employment.
Essentially I am leaving for 2 reasons…

The company is in free-fall. The state of the business is bad enough to where we are not hitting our bonuses. Not even close. Like we can’t even get into the batter’s box to even attempt to hit the ball (bonus). These bonuses were super attractive and part of the reason I accepted employment here.

In order to save $ this year and going forward, the company decided to suspend all 401k matches for a minimum of 7 months. This absolutely does not sit right with me. I don’t care your reasoning. You’re yanking a benefit from us that was listed in the job listing, and from what I understand, is only saving the company around $1mil this year.
- My main thought on this is why should I sling your product if you’re not going to invest in my future?
This is essentially what I’m going into next week with with my boss on why I’m quitting. I feel it’s justifiable. And if he doesn’t think so, I don’t really care.
Thoughts?
